@MartinGuayOTT I DO use an iPhone (work phone). Not going to buy one. I have recommended them. Especially if it's to someone I don't want to do IT support for ... because while I use them, and I have to support them at work, that's for VERY limited things like email and authentication apps.

@TWiT @ant_pruitt Spent years using GIMP on linux, and it holds a special place in my heart. But I have serious love for the Affinity suite and still use them, even with the full Creative Cloud installed. Photoshop still has the edge with animation timelines, but even GIMP beats Affinity there.

@squirrelrehab @TWiT @ant_pruitt I used to love Paint Shop Pro. I went to Affinity a few years ago and LOVE it. Even with an Adobe CC full subscription for work, I still keep the Affinity suite installed. For a lot of things, I find it much better. But each suite has its advantages in different ways.

@androidcentral This Note fan thoroughly disagrees. I see I'm not alone. This is NOT a replacement for a Note. I'm sure it's a fine device, for the price of a decent used car, but it's a hard pass from me. I'll stick with my 10+ until it dies or I get bored with all that memory and storage.

@cmsj But how is that any different or better? That's like saying all the CSAM stuff they're trying to stop is okay to send around as long as they make the files smaller and blurrier too. Big, greased up slippery slope on so many levels. There has to be a better way.

And what I find worse here is that Apple's system, as I've read it, will MAKE A COPY of the offending image to be distributed. So, by that token, Apple will actually be CREATING CSAM images in their process! How is that better?

It can't be illegal for everyone to possess/distribute except Apple because of their "good intentions" here. It's a big, ugly, messy can of worms. Only the worms have been cross-bred with murder hornets, turned venomous, and can fly now.

@SomeGadgetGuy I remain hopeful that WearOS finally gets some love ... but I'm at the point with watches that I can't bring myself to justify them anymore. I'd honestly look at an Apple Watch for the health features IF it supported Android phones. #meh
