Meet Kasosi Kerry Purengei, a 2025 🇹🇿 YALI Mandela Washington Fellow — a tech advocate dedicated to bridging the digital divide for indigenous communities in Tanzania.
With a background in computer science, Kasosi serves as ICT Manager at PINGO’s Forum, where he promotes digital literacy, expands STEM education, and uses media to amplify marginalized voices. He also worked with grassroots organizations like Traditional Ecosystems Survival Tanzania to increase digital access in underserved areas.
Kasosi is currently studying Leadership in Civic Engagement at the University of Tennessee, gaining tools to further empower indigenous communities through technology and advocacy. 💡

Akiwa na taaluma ya sayansi ya kompyuta, Kasosi ni Meneja wa TEHAMA katika Jukwaa la PINGO, ambako anahamasisha uelewa wa teknolojia, kupanua elimu ya STEM, na kutumia vyombo vya habari kuinua sauti za watu waliowekwa pembezoni. Pia alifanya kazi na mashirika ya kijamii kama Traditional Ecosystems Survival Tanzania ili kuongeza upatikanaji wa teknolojia katika maeneo yasiyohudumiwa ipasavyo.
Kwa sasa, Kasosi anasomea Uongozi katika Ushiriki wa Kiraia katika Chuo Kikuu cha Tennessee, akijifunza mbinu za kuendeleza uwezeshaji wa jamii zinazofuata mifumo ya kijadi kupitia teknolojia na utetezi. 💡
