@random_pure@TheFP DOGE didnt achieve the magnitude of success hoped for... mbut i suspect history will judge it kindly, and its critics far less so...
It was an early step in exposing the level of govt waste, and the hypocrisy of defenders of some of the most ridiculous waste of taxpayer funds.
@Nohkz_GG@deaflibertarian Yeah ... what a snake oil salesman!
Those scammed into investing $10k in Tesla when Musk listed it have only made $2M so far.
@wydanshu@SawyerMerritt Starlink pricing for General aviation has recently been raised approx 10x with price tier>100mph and 400mph.
Maybe ok for commercial operators but general aviation pilots who fly occasionally mostly canceling ... as cost makes no sense if fly few hours per month
@talesftf@RicochetRowdy Don't $TSLAQ think Tesla will go broke or tank?
If so the vote makes no difference as Elon only gains if the company soars for years to come.
What would be the point of propping up TSLA if you think Elon is failing anyway.
What a sad bunch you must be :)
Please keep shorting.
Is TSLA AGM open to attend for all shareholders?
i asked GROK and it told me in past attendance was open only for limited numbers so a random draw.
i emailed tesla investor relations but no reply after a week (not great).
Just wondered if you or your tesla expert colleagues could comment
@TeslaBoomerMama Is AGM open to all retail shareholders to attend? Grok said in past has been random draw due limited capacity … which if the case seems a shame as it would be great for Elon to take opportunity to address so many of his most loyal support base.
Funnily enough Neuralink is researching Alzheimers as well as blindness and quadreplegia…. but I guess that doesnt really suit your narrative…
Tesla aims of course to advance the world to sustainability & renewables on a global basis (see the video on Tesla master plan 3 if youre interested)…
As for BYD …
They sold less EVs than Tesla last year despite offerring EVs at less than half Teslas price. Pretty obvious when Tesla shortly releases its low cost EV it will similarly outsell comparable BYD models by far….
But if you personally prefer to support Chinese jobs and leadership… by all means do so.
(I expect many others might prefer an American or ‘western’ nation car that isnt accelerating China’s march to become the world’s dominant power…).
@AlfBundy2077 is probably right…
No real use…. No companies will want a robit that can work 365 days/yr, 18hrs/day (allowing for recharge & maint), at fraction of cost of human, and with litte time on training, and little HR, Admin, supervision etc…
As Thomas Watson, the president of IBM, once estimated …..there will be a world market for "maybe five computers,"
or Henry Ford’s attributed observation….. "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses,"
@dfunkshun Your probably right…
No doubt some of them will leave and build their own far better and bigger rockets, rocket companies, better EV transport solutions and superior Ai and social media……… and raise the money.. etc 🙄
I think the success of SpaceX (starlink, 90% lower cost to taxpayers of NASA missions due reuseable rockets)…. and success of Tesla (pioneering EV technology, employing more americans as US components in cars far exceed GM, Ford etc, ) benefits USA.
But hey… if you’d rather China or other mations are the world class leaders bug a foreign made car…. or waste more taxpayer money buying rockets made by Boeing that can do the job (or put US astronauts on russian rockers. (Russian rockets are more expensive - but work).
PS I’m not American. So your choice… whether you want a smart decision helping America or a dumb one helping China & Russia
The things holding Tesla and SpaceX back have increasingly become govt bureacracy rather then technical or engineering. Endless cost and delays occur if Tesla needs separate approval in every state and spacex needs to prove rockets wont kill sharks and whales or reduce seal reproduction.
While endless delays hold back US progress, China competitors quietly progress and one day catchup.
Elon is in Washington DC - not because he wannted but because thats where the biggest problems holding Tesla and SpaceX had become and the CEO job is to tackle the biggest problems that others cant resolve.
