Breaking News - The @NCSBE has kicked back the Protest Appeal in favor of Lucille Puckett, to the Mecklenburg County Election Official’s. Her protests challenges Caleb Theodros, and brings into to question that - he did not have the necessary 1 year residency requirements to run in the NC Senate District 41 and to appear on the Ballot for the March 5, 2024 Election. The decision was made today, after the State Board of Elections officials heard statements from both parties. A vote of 4 to 1 decided that there is enough evidence to send the Protest Appeal back to the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections for a hearing.

On Thursday the North Carolina State Board of Elections @NCSBE will hear Senate District 41 candidate Lucille Puckett Election protest appeal - questioning the validity of Caleb Theodros residency as a qualified candidate who ran for the District 41 NC State Senate seat. Prior reports & Documents paint a story and show that Caleb has listed 3 different addresses in several Districts as his home in 2023. On March 15, 2024 the Mecklenburg County BOE scantly reviewed the protest and Theodros was not required to prove his current address as of the March 5, 2024 Election. And the Mecklenburg county board chose to dismissed the locally filed protest, so Puckett filed the Elections Appeal to the higher State officials. Interesting enough is the fact that Caleb Theodros does not have to provide any government ID, or proof of residency to the BOE, to run for office in North Carolina, unlike his constituents who are required to show their ID to have there vote counted. The NC Senate seat does require that the Candidate lived in the District for at least one year. And hence and that is why the Protest and Appeal was filed by Puckett under G.S. § 163-182.11 challenging Theodros’s residency and his presumptive election nomination from March 5, 2024.

Both parties may present their arguments, on Thursday via a web conference and Caleb Theodros will have a chance to defend himself to the NC SBE. However, Caleb can as he has in the past, most likely remain silent and opt out on responding. No proof is required by the BOE from him.
