@DrDavidWarriner Desperate. I am so pleased that the colleagues who wrote this obituary have added a line about the impact of workload on NHS workers. It takes its toll.
“I understand that a strong woman standing up to you is met with such reticence,” replies Jess Phillips to a group of men intimidating after her win.
Jess then tells of how a young woman delivering leaflets yesterday was filmed and screamed at by an older man, who then slashed her tyres.
Huge respect to Jess.
My wife and I are currently in Japan. She 'accidentally' found herself in the beauty section of a Japanese Department Store. What follows is a series of puns I would say out loud to myself as I saw products with weird names whilst I was following her around. You're welcome.

A reminder to check in on your friends and family, who live with a long term serious mental illness, such as Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia. We may seem like we’re doing ok, but we may also be fronting big time. I’ve been managing my current depression for 2.5 months, and unless I’ve told our I doubt that you’d know. Christmas can be tough for many people, it’s incredibly tough when your body and brain are depressed and all you want to do is sleep, but it’s the festive season and you SHOULD be happy and jolly. But I’m not. I LOVE Christmas, but this year it’s a struggle to keep putting on the smile.
So check in on your friends and family, and don’t take it personally if they are not in the Christmas Spirit’. They may just be fighting just to get up in the morning and anything else almost impossible.

@DrDavidWarriner I recall Alan Maynard’s chat at York uni - I paraphrase, but something along the lines of “medical school is like taking a series of GCSEs in anatomy, physiology, embryology, pharmacology…” This was not my experience. It was challenging and not just due to quantity of learning!
@dradisharma@CorteseSamuele@CNTWMed_Develop That sounds like an extremely useful presentation - will there be any other opportunities to hear it? I didn’t know about this conference and it is such a relevant topic to CYP
@jcollm1 I did a short stint in Hawkes Bay, NZ in 2008/9. I could not believe the free food, 20% extra for cross-cover, float locum, help with accom/moving expenses, general flexibility. It was v hard work but I felt valued. It’s just so far away…
The NHS is launching a month-long online conversation on children and young people’s mental health, gathering learning and ideas on how we can improve waiting times and make services more accessible. They want to hear from you at https://t.co/BjrnBdzoJd #SolvingTogether
Tory govt has covertly signed a contract targeting 20% cuts to new education plans for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to bring down costs.
With a SEND son, I know the pain this will cause to so many children & families
