So proud of my dear friend and roomie who has been toiling away as my personal unpaid therapist for years, the ever impressive new Professor @ErikNook !!
I am overjoyed to announce that I have accepted an Assistant Professorship in the Psych dept at @Princeton starting July 2022 after a year as a postdoc w @dylanggee at @Yale. This is a literal dream come true - come work with me!
Just learned @StanfordHealth is NOT vaccinating its #residents this week against #COVID but is giving 5K vaccines to other hospital staff. This is unacceptable. These are physicians who have been working 80-hrs/wk caring for COVID patients. #CovidVaccine#GiveThemTheirShots
VACCINATED!
1) fuck yeah SCIENCE
2) so grateful my number came up first due to staffing the ICU
3) can’t wait for the rest of my colleagues/family/friends/the world to get their turn

On Monday we hosted another Healing Concert to be shared virtually throughout the hospital. The finale was really something special. Dr. Tomoaki Kato spent weeks on a ventilator and days on ECMO fighting COVID-19. Here he joins for a song. We love you, Dr. Kato. (Part 1)
It’s been about a week since I stopped googling “Coronavirus Nyc” every morning and started relying solely on Craig Smith @ColumbiaSurgery for the latest updates and inspirational words I need to get myself out of bed every morning. Guess we here at Columbia aren’t the only ones.
So pleased to have colleagues like @ColumbiaSurgery. No cases? ICU fellows and attendings slammed? Impromptu procedural strike force! From a couple days of having this up and running, I promise it’s a godsend. Consider working this in to your hospital’s plans for #covid

Someone has posted an Op Note for “Debridement of the Call Room Refrigerator” and I cant stop laughing!🤣
Our @PSU_Surgery colleagues really have the best sense of humor!!

Nearly 1300 kids die and ~6000 are injured bc of gunshot wounds each year. In our research, which I presented @PediTraumaSoc this year, we found that kids who are *unintentionally* injured in a gun-related accident are more likely to come back with a repeat GSW. #ThisIsOurLane
