İşte o soru ve Başbakan Mark Carney’nin cevabı!

TS2023’lülerin Work Permit’lerin iki yıl uzatılma talebiyle ilgili Oakville West Milletvekili Şima Açan’ın meclise sunduğu önergeye ve toplumun imzaladığı dilekçeye Kanada Hükümeti’nin, IRCC’nin cevap vermesi için süre 13 Haziran‘da doluyor.

Sizinle Başbakanın soruma verdiği cevabı sıcağı sıcağına paylaşıyorum. Rahatlıkla Türkçe’ye çevireceğinizden de eminim.😉
Şimdi binlerce kişi Başbakan’ın son günde bile dikkatine getirdiğim bu konuda, son 24 saatte alınacak kararı bekliyor!

Canada’s response to the 2023 disaster showed global leadership and empathy. Extending TS2023 would reaffirm those values and ensure that a humanitarian promise is fully honored.

Many #TS2023 holders have built stable lives — jobs, housing, community ties. Ending the program abruptly would undo integration and create uncertainty. A fair extension benefits both people and Canada.

On Monday, 6 February 2023, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck southeastern Türkiye, centered in the city of Kahramanmaraş, near the Syrian border. Several hours later, a second 7.5-magnitude earthquake hit the same region. In this disaster of unprecedented scale and severity, more than 53,000 people lost their lives. It is estimated that the amount of debris generated in Türkiye alone reached approximately 100 million cubic meters. The recovery and reconstruction process will take many years to complete.

Conditions in Türkiye have still not returned to normal. Making TS2023 work permits temporary means leaving us once again alone with the same fear and uncertainty. Please allow the people you invited through humanitarian assistance to rebuild their lives with dignity and stability.

The February 6, 2023 earthquakes in Türkiye are recorded as the deadliest earthquakes worldwide since the 2010 Haiti earthquake, which claimed over 300,000 lives.

We know how Canada opened its doors to Haiti and provided protection and opportunity. Please do not forget us—the people you invited to rebuild our lives after the earthquake.

Sending us back means returning many women, children, youth, elderly, and families to the same disaster and fear.

One year after TS2023, families who rebuilt their lives in Canada still have no clarity.
They work, study, contribute, and yet face uncertainty as the special measure nears expiry.
Canada cannot afford to lose what these families have built.
TS2023 needs an extension and a pathway.
It’s time for an answer.
