6/ One example was the taro field on the ‘Ele‘ele school campus, where Kumu Sabra Kauka and Kumu Chad Shimmelfennig’s fifth grade class presented a cultural program to celebrate the land and the coming together to be able to feed our keiki healthy food while they’re in school.

Recently addressed the United Filipino Council of Hawaii (UFCH) at its annual Installation of Officers and Progress Awards. The UFCH oversees 350 unit organizations promoting community development, leadership, scholarships and outreach programs, social events, and networking.

Recently spoke at the Clearing the Cloud: Hawaii’s Youth Vaping Epidemic Conference. Health and education professionals met to increase awareness, knowledge and discuss the growing use of electronic cigarettes and vapes among youth, and its impact on Hawaii. #ltgovdougchin
