Here's what I've learned about politics since October 7, 2023. Blind loyalty to one party creates a false sense of reality. No one party will represent your beliefs at all times. When you have unlimited faith and a strong belief in your party, they will let you down.
Graham Platner puts Democrats at an important crossroads. Are we going to hold the moral standard that Republicans abandoned?
Or is the greater good to be found in doing whatever it takes to retake the U.S. Senate— even with a flawed candidate?
I believe in redemption. But redemption requires accountability and honesty. I hope Platner does better on those two counts, going forward. Regardless, the people of Maine have a tough decision.
@AndyKimNJ@AnaliliaForNJ Let me understand this…you are asking me, a lifelong Dem to vote for a proud anti-Semitic candidate? This is the best @newjerseydems@democratNJ can do? And you wonder why so many are leaving the party? I will not only NOT vote for her, but tou have lost my vote as well!
Antisemitism is surging at Ohio University, from Nazi salutes on campus to a school-wide BDS referendum. Demand the Ohio University administration publicly condemn antisemitism and take action to protect its Jewish students. https://t.co/R8qJZdlbzn
Woah 🤯 - Did you catch this moment when watching the debate?
Mejia: "And if [antisemitism] is the worse thing that I could be accused of, then I will stand with it..."
Unreal.
@DemMaj4Israel We have a @vp who refused to recognize that Jewish people were the victims of the Holocaust on the Republican side and socialist on the Democratic side who refuse to acknowledge Israel has the right to exist. This is why so many of us feel like we are left without a party
@JDVance ***6 million Jewish lives including 1.5 million Jewish children. @JDVance@VP If you are going to acknowledge the day - at least do it properly.
Ran Gvili, our hero, has returned home after 843 days.
Ran, a special forces police officer, went out to battle heroically in order to save lives on October 7th. Finally, Ran has been returned home to his family in Israel.
The entire people of Israel are moved to tears. Our hearts are with his parents, Talik and Itzik, who fought a noble and heroic battle to bring him home.
Thank you to all those involved in the operation to bring Ran home. This was an operation of immeasurable importance in fulfilling the sacred obligation to redeem captives.
After many difficult years, for the first time since 2014, there are no Israeli citizens held hostage in Gaza. An entire nation prayed and waited for this moment.
May Ran's memory be a blessing.
@AdamSchefter Today, I was a Patriots fan! Love that he lost against the team that has an owner that is fighting against hate #standuptojewishhate @standuptojewishhate
At least eleven Jews were murdered in an antisemitic terrorist attack against the Jewish community in Australia on the first night of Hanukkah. Terror and violence against Jews are part of a global surge in antisemitism fueled by an ever-escalating campaign of demonization and dehumanization.
Yet the Australian Prime Minister’s initial statement expressed sympathy for “every affected person,” conspicuously omitting any mention of Jews or Jew-hatred: a sin of omission that constitutes a fundamental failure of moral clarity at the very moment it is most urgently needed.
