An issue I have with Twitter usage is that people use it to deliver thoughtless, passionate reactions as well as official statements. So when media quote tweets as a way to gauge "what people are saying" I sometimes wonder how seriously we should take each one.

Update: after much fiddling, successfully added the link to a Spanish page, which someone else started, into the list of translations. Sometimes info is available, just not organized properly.
(5/6) One thing Im certain is that we need MORE editors in more languages to translate and document it. Rn the article for Canada's Residential School is available in 12 languages on @Wikipedia, but not all of them extensive. If you know a 2nd language, 👏 be 👏 bold, WRITE
#315WeekEight Covid made every aspect of our lives digital. I feel that the "always on" mode has actually reduced my personal reactivity to incoming notifs. I am always doing something online, whether thats work or school, so my mental health can't take online texting too.
Looking for music recs? Big fan of moodboards? My final post may have something for you. Happy to have blogged with #CCOM315-- it's been a very rewarding experience! https://t.co/qMEkjYE7HQ
@louie_gillette I love the design and the tone of your blog! I agree with you on how it can be difficult to make time for writing what you like while working on your studies. It's cool that this course encouraged us to build on our personal knowledge and interests for the content we produced!
@help_its_olivia Your reflection video is so neat and professional! The walk-through of your site and revisions is very clear, and the design is super cute and fun. Adding your Goodreads is a nice touch! It's been great reading your work!
@virtualcasey@kbritneyvu ahh that's ok! Yes, I totally understand how reading in the native form is relevant in this course! Though letting students know about pdfs would be a good idea for future renditions of the course, to ensure everyone can access the materials:)
nyt: "pretty soon, the quality of the internet you experience will largely depend on how much you're willing to pay for it"
me: that's interesting, tell me more--

@ALeeNordine Do you think scrolling influences all your different kinds of reading? This impatience happens to me too, but only in places like social media where viewing many short posts is easy and more satisfying-- I can still pause and read a long article in a different context.
#ccom315 About the #FutureofWriting being more succinct writing: Short attention spans are not the only thing that will drive this, but also fast-paced lifestyles and rapid flows of information. We often want to do (and view) a much as we can, as quickly as possible.
I called my video "the aesthetics of future writing”, though my train of thought led me to consider future linguistics more specifically. They're both related in my mind! #ccom315#FutureofWriting

... that being said, I don't think people will stop writing long texts altogether anytime soon. People want to share stories. We will always have lots to say and complex stories to tell. #ccom315#FutureofWriting
