Over the years I came up with some "guerrilla user interface design" rules to make UIs easier to use:
1. set font size min to 16px (to make text readable)
2. set font weight min to 400 (to make text readable)
3. use short words (to make text clear)

11. avoid using input placeholder as labels
12. use underlined style for links
13. always apply styling rules for hover, focus and active states
