This is a pretty cool development in CAD - basic premise is using guaranteed manifold meshes instead of Breps as the underlying object model. Quite different from most 3d kernels used in AEC.
I just released my open-source #CAD library, Manifold.

I'm looking for potential users and collaborators; perhaps the @openscad or @FreeCADNews contributors are interested?

@baersteve came across this interesting research on generating guaranteed manifold meshes and resulting boolean operations. Fascinating research - wondered if McNeel is looking at this?

A new era of #timber#architecture has arrived. From taller #wood buildings to customized freeforms, use of timber as a #construction material is driving change in the way we #design, manufacture and construct buildings. https://t.co/tPMss5qJ1N @StructureCraft_ @lucasepp
@AnthonieKramer My vote is for an API-ifying of our industry built on an object-model platform (think @HyparAEC/ BHoM/@SpeckleSystems ).
An open architecture platform w/ distributed plugin dev by a robust user community, customizing for locale-specific practices/codes/design problems.
@AnthonieKramer That's 25+ different software platforms to deal with on one project (admittedly from design to build, so not typically the same company throughout) - but the same project, same 3D model.
Something needs to change.
@jmanooch@AnthonieKramer@HyparAEC@airtable Yeah needs to be something with a modern UI and built to suit the AEC vertical. Think we may be stuck with @Cosential, although not looking forward to implementing after having ditched it a few years back.
Only other options are Excel + PowerBI/Tableau, or we build our own.
OK AEC community.. there must be a CRM that doesn't suck?? Cosential, Deltek, Hubspot, Insightly, Dynamics, Salesforce... barf. Where's @HyparAEC for CRM? Any ideas?
Ok for all the hubspotters here’s the issue. the problem with most of the new CRMs is that they're all product based assuming one client and a single point of sale. that is just not AEC.
Cosential has the capabilities, but the UI... wait what UI...
@NotionHQ I'm trying to link from Notion to launch Outlook (and a specific Email) using the outlook: link protocol. However it seems on inspection of the <a href=""> block that Notion is auto-blocking an outlook: style protocol. Any chance of a fix?
