I thought I knew more about technology but taking this class I've realized that I have so much to learn. Although it's a bit stressful, I feel so accomplished when I get done with a task. #csubedte4200#csubted
@JasmineCazares3@doctor2pi I've seen teachers have students do group projects by using PowerPoint & I think it's so great. They can all learn to collaborate this way. Showing videos related to the topic can also help peak their interest, &helps them focus if the video is interesting as well as educational.
@AnnBadillo1@teachsci8 @all_is_number @DrEddiesClass@doctor2pi@Duncannedd@tom_karnes@Ststansberry @Flipgrid @GetKahoot I've seen so many students react well when teachers use Kahoot! It makes them to try because they want to be in the top 3. Flipgrid is also a nice app to use. I know in times like these we really miss those face to face interactions & it's nice to see some faces for discussions.
A4: I hope to teach 4th-6th grade. I can use technology to have them do group projects using PowerPoint to then present to the class. I can also use Kahoot! & even show YouTube videos that are related to the subject to peak interest. #csubedte4200#CSUBTEd@doctor2pi
@seelesste @doctor2pi I agree! Not everyone is able to afford wi-fi or technology which limits them from learning right now. And just like you said, internet access should not limit learning. I also know some hotspots aren't the best so I hope there's a better solution soon. #CSUBTEd#csubedte4200
@MrSaenzGerardo1 @doctor2pi I agree that getting accessibility is a challenge for some communities because getting internet may be too expensive. I think it's a good thing that schools are lending laptops & free hotspots to students who need them. This is going help out a lot. #CSUBTEd#csubedte4200
A3: Right now schools are giving out laptops & free hotspots which is a way of making technology accessible in the community. But sometimes certain areas won't get good internet connection & students won't be able to do HW or join zoom classes. #CSUBTEd#csubedte4200@doctor2pi
@KyleighLong4@teachsci8 It's so important to find something that helps English Learners really understand what they're learning while also making it enjoyable because it's easy to lose focus on something that becomes boring. I'm going to have to get familiar with this program. #CSUBTEd#csubedte4200
@steph80778@tom_karnes@doctor2pi@aavina33 Hey Stephanie, I've never heard of Achieve 3000. I'm going to have to take a look at it because from what you've said it sounds it could be a really great program for English Learners to use. I like that it recommends book based on comprehension level. #CSUBTEd#csubedte4200
A2: There are many great programs & apps such as Duolingo & FluentU which are programs that are set up to guide users through activities to learn English. I've also seen Kahoot be used for fun & quick assessments to see where students are at. #csubedte4200#CSUBTEd@doctor2pi
A1: Commutation is key, especially right now given the situation & there are certain apps that make it easier for the teachers & students. Zoom & Microsoft Teams are good apps to use to be able to see & talk to your students during class. #CSUBTEd#edte4200@doctor2pi
@Mrs_Campbell91@teachsci8 Hi Cassy! Congrats on this being your last semester, it must be very bittersweet for you. I was also thinking of wanting to teach fourth grade if I could because I observed a fourth grade class once, and the teacher told me as well that they tend to listen better at that age.
Hi my name is Lucia Marquez. This is my first semester at CSUB, but my 4th year college. I've never really wanted to teach a specific grade, but I've heard from the teachers that I observed that 2nd grade was the best. @doctor2pi#CSUBTEd#csubedte4200

I just learned how to embed my social media feed onto my website. It took me a while to figure it out but now that I found this website that creates a code for you to embed your website it became much easier. #CSUBTed
