I’ve noticed a pattern on the matchmaking side of Twitter.
Whenever a man sends in a request describing the kind of woman he’d like to marry, and one of his preferences is that she be a virgin, people immediately make a fuss about it.
You’ll see comments like, “Go and mould her with sand,” or “Is he even a virgin himself?”
It got me thinking.
Is it wrong for a man to have that preference?
People are entitled to disagree with it, just as they’re entitled to have their own preferences. But when did having a preference become a crime?
We don’t usually react the same way when a woman says she wants a tall man, a wealthy man, an educated man, or a man who has never been married. We simply acknowledge that those are her preferences, even if not every man fits them.
So why is it different when a man says one of his preferences is to marry a virgin?
Or it’s only a woman that can have preferences?
@babaigbaja@DangoteOfData@Adamthallith You're only projecting. So, it's not only your family but your entire generation? I see why you thought other women are like yours. Can't believe an entire generation and lineage never married as a virgin. God forbid bad thing.
@aladetai@DangoteOfData@dammiedammie35 Once una no Sabi your parents from childhood, una go dey pour una frustrations on strangers. No go find them for mortuary. Ozuor
At least they're still alive. Can you say the same thing for yours? 😏 You're triggered for the same question you're asking others. When you know no be all of them get, why you dey ask us foolish questions here?
Sunday Igboho 🗣:"The 'Iru Ekun' Network I started is a registered security network. I consulted the president before launching it, and he gave his approval.
I urged all Yorubas to join me and flush the criminals out of our forests. They are doing this because a Yoruba man is now the president."
I hope you’re never at the mercy of anyone.
But if life happens and you do find yourself suddenly at their mercy, I hope they’re actually merciful to you.
I hope they are kind. I hope you get the help you need from them without being abused, shamed or taken advantage of.
