Ambient, continuous, and precise “nudging” that actively shapes your experience of reality based on your chosen parameters is objectively cool and one of those “big if true” neuro things that only a few people (for now) get to work on.
Reminds me of the burning question I almost got to ask @stevewoz irl: what have you not experienced yet, that you want to experience, that would persuade you to buy another (redacted) device?
Yes, and also we need better heuristics for evil. “Intent to harm for its own sake,” a la Cathy in Steinbeck’s East of Eden and similarly psychopathic characters, don’t need to actually win, they just want to see you lose. They’d burn it all down for the love of the game, on a random Tuesday. Often from their earliest consciousness, they’ve lived in a cursed loop of harm to others and harm to self that seems totally detached from a rational, even self-seeking, agenda or message, almost taking on animal-like qualities. See: the folk idea of spirit possession, the Christian idea of “the unforgivable sin,” and correlation between cluster B traits and systems that require sacrificial/sycophantic narratives to justify and enforce clear harm.
