NOAA data show more humpback, minke, and North Atlantic right whales died on the US east coast in 2024 than in 2023! What is happening?!? @windaction@SaveNARW
VICTORY! Trump has promised to pause all offshore wind leases, which could save the North Atlantic right whale from extinction at the hands of industrial wind energy. It's incredible to watch Republicans steal the save-the-whales issue from Democrats. Video overview here:
Ørsted has taken FID on the 704-MW Revolution Wind project offshore Connecticut and Rhode Island.
, the company has decided to halt development of the Ocean Wind 1 and 2 projects offshore southern NJ, @ack4whales @GreenOceansRI #mapoli

The environment impacts of #VineyardWindUS need a review @epaleezeldin@DougBurgum and @ChrisAWright_ In July 2024, a 60 ton blade collapsed and spread debris in the ocean and on the Cape Cod beaches. Recently, VW disclosed all the 66 blades installed are defective.
The flawed blades have an elevated risk of collapse and all VW operations except taking down blades should be stopped. There have been an extraordinary # of dolphin and whale deaths in the last year. More research on health risks https://t.co/614K0b0kNk
@ChalkeMary40147@ACKCurrent Deception of the public and coverup of the defective blades is right in the wheelhouse of @AGPamBondi. And @SecretaryBurgum needs to intervene to stop the pollution of the ocean with toxins & microplastics and the deaths of whales and dolphins caused by Vineyard Wind 1.
Delaying the removal by replacing blades before all faulty blades are removed increases the period at risk. After 4 years, one turbine operating, one blade collapse, and abt 21 turbines with flawed blades argues for termination. #KeepNantucketWild#ack4whales#OSW@johnfgately
BOEM and BSEE has not canceled VineyardWind and is allowing new blades to be installed before all the defective blades have been taken down. KeepNantucketWild Ack4Whales
Nantucket needs a review by @chrisawright_ & @dougburgum on VineyardWind who has installed 66 defective blades. The defects were covered up, one 60 ton blade has fallen into the ocean, whales and dolphins are dying, ocean and beaches polluted, and the viewshed destroyed.
@ack4whales In light of the info provided in the attached Nantucket Current letter, Vineyard Winds should remove all the remaining blades immediately and halt all further construction or restoration until the new administration completes environmental impact studies. #BigWind#whales
We keep hearing the “Good Neighbor Agreement” Nantucket has w/ VW “gives us a seat at the table”. Which table is that? Neither BSEE nor VW has given us info re: damaged blades, yet they’re taking them ALL down while continuing to build. https://t.co/V7jsvqvaVE
@ack4whales@SierraClub I'm guessing the @SierraClub is more concerned about protecting the very unimpressive delta smelt in California than our amazing whales.
Does anyone know if #SanditonS3 has aired in Great Britain yet? And other countries? I was feeling very sorry for the Brits in March b/c they had to wait, but now am envious. Thank heavens we can keep sharing new insights and discussing #Sanditon on twitter.
#SanditonPBS
@SanditonH That was such a painful scene at end of S2. They both muffed the opportunity to set things straight. He should have persisted, she should have given him a chance to explain himself. Painful, but at least it gave us a #SanditonS3. #Sanditon
