March 23 data published on #CVDPrevent. Congratulations to ATMedics Streatham PCN for achieving over 87% on BP control. You can watch their presentation at CLG on https://t.co/87nAnnghCI
"Proportion of UK black trainees receiving an unsatisfactory outcome-ARCP- is nearly DOUBLE that of white trainees"
Data source: @gmcuk
Less chance of:
👉🏾Getting into medical school
👉🏾Being offered training posts
👉🏾Becoming Consultants or Professors
Just data as it is.
@Heidi_Labour There’s no point training more if the number leaving the NHS once trained continues to rise. Or the number of GPs continues to fall. Fix the problems of retainment, don’t just pour more water down a leaking drain.
You should be able to get a GP appointment when you need one.
Labour will end the postcode lottery for GP appointments, training 7,500 more doctors a year and guaranteeing face-to-face appointments.
Vote Labour on Thursday 4 May to cut waiting times.

Great example of why doctors are striking.
More and more doctors are moving abroad as the pay and conditions in NHS are so poor. Wonder why NHS isn’t working well? This is one of the factors.
Here’s my payslip as a first year doctor in 2005, next to a first year doctor colleague’s in 2023. 18 years later, their take home salary is less than mine was. I lived for free in hospital accommodation and had a fraction of their student loan.

We see that @SteveBarclay has told @BBCR4today programme he is meeting with doctors later today.
Actually he cancelled the 9am meeting we agreed so he could do media, and a further meeting is not yet agreed.
Hopefully it will be soon.
For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.
I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).
The NHS is completely BROKEN
It WASNT broken by COVID/Ukraine/inflation(*delete excuse)
It was broken by deliberate CHOICES to break it
RT if you want this/next government to make CHOICES to properly fund the NHS, reward its staff & provide better healthcare for UK population
2. Gov has sought to point to the independent pay board as their justification for the pay settlement. But the ‘level of independence’ of the body has come into question as scrutiny has ratcheted up, with some unions threatening to withdraw from it altogether
25/ Our new chancellor @jeremy_hunt knows this is a problem
#FixTheFinanceAct#FixNegativePIAs#TaxUnregistered
Its time to fix this properly, before its too late
RT if you are fed up with them robbing your pension & destroying the NHS
https://t.co/7FUxSvXIrL
1/ This is a *really* important thread🧵 re current pensions consultation. I need you to take time to read it properly & watch the 2 videos / modelling done with @gdcuk
They are trying to steal your pension, whilst pretending they are fixing a problem. Read, 👀 2 videos & RT
2022 is also the year we got buffer zones into legislation that's making its way through parliament - designed to put a stop to anti-abortion harassment outside clinics. Where in the list is @stellacreasy or @RupaHuq or Victoria Atkins? 9/
@DrSelvarajah We still have a significant number of same day or previous day booked appointments where patients don’t turn up. Despite reminder texts. Then ask to rebook for another day.
Not saying this is the solution but I do think it’s an abuse of services.
