The heatwave, day two. No one could sleep. Deodorant does nothing. Desk fans have melted. Leather sofas are hotter than the sun. Ice cream is more valuable than oil. People still insist on drinking tea.

Trains from Stevenage & Knebworth have been cancelled since 06:40am with no prior notice. There are c.50 trying to get to London to run for charity. It happens every day, something needs to be done. Is there a plan? Is there anything I can do to help? @KnebworthLisa @SMcPartland

I dread to think how many tweets @KnebworthLisa got this morning about this trains. I would like to spend a day working on the trains to see what it's like. It must be a really tough job as it goes wrong daily at the moment

@KnebworthLisa Wednesday was absolutely terrible the morning trains were cancelled a few minutes after they were due and there were 100s of people in the station. A train came in and everyone got off. Then it got cancelled and left empty.
