I wrote my own eulogy because I feel death approaching me now😥.
In the heart of Gaza’s war that devours souls and steals dreams, I mourn myself as if I see my end looming on the horizon. Yet, I hope my words will remain alive, bearing witness to the fact that I loved life with all my might, even though fate was unbearably cruel. Do not let my words die with me; share them. Let them be a living memory that never fades.
I clung to life, brave and unafraid, loving peace and all the details of existence. But fate chose an ending I was not prepared for. I never surrendered; I stood firm in the face of death, even when it imposed itself. Tell my friends I ascended to the heavens standing tall and resilient. Tell them I flew without wings, swam in a sea of pain while shackled, yet never broke.
Tell my children that I was a loving father who held them in my arms during the bombing, so my soul would take the shrapnel instead of their tiny bodies. I was their shield, the fortress that swallowed fear to keep them safe. Teach them always to stand with peace, hold on to hope, and plant love wherever they go.
I was stronger than sorrow and despair, wiping my tears and telling myself, "I am strong; I will not cry." I loved my homeland and never sold my dreams. I dreamed of a tomorrow where I would see it free. I wanted to embrace freedom and shake hands with peace, but fate was faster than me.
At the end of my eulogy, I leave you with this will: Build a different future—one free of wars, filled with peace. Embrace your children, be kind to the elderly, and choose leaders who cherish life and peace. Always stand by the weak and help them until they become strong.
Do not build me a statue; instead, pray for mercy for my soul and remember me with a smile that tells my story and a heart that beats with love and peace.
"Let me be very clear: Threats against the ICC promote a culture of impunity. They make a mockery of the decades-long quest to place law above force and atrocity."

Wes Streetings decision to ban puberty blockers should be called out for what it is.
He's playing culture wars where trans & non binary youth are collateral damage & Labour dance to Reforms tune.
An attack on trans people is an attack on our LGBTQ+ community. We must say no.
Heartshattering to learn an Israeli drone has targeted and assassinated Mahmoud Almadhoun, one of the founders and chefs behind the Gaza Soup Kitchen.
What started as four pots and essential ingredients in Bait Lahia had grown into a remarkable effort to feed 3,000 people daily.
Heartbreaking:
Israel assassinated Chef Mahmoud Al-Madhoun, who has been helping the Kamal Odwan patients for months. He is brother of Hani Al-Madhoun, UNRWA USA’s senior director of philanthropy.
I’m been watching Chef Mahmoud and his team doing the most amazing things in the most terrible of conditions.
This is a big war crime!!
My condolences to Hani and the family.
This is a very good thread. I’ve never endorsed the “teams” interpretation of world politics, where anti-imperialism means cheering for anyone “on your team” against the West.
I believe in anticolonialism grounded in self-determination, as a right of peoples whose agency needs to be respected. The world is complex, treat it as such. I am being cautious re Syria rn, but I do know Assad is a brutal dictator and war criminal. Some anti-Assad groups violate human rights too. Others are aligned with Turkey or the West. All of this should be factored in. “I support Assad because he is the anti-imperial one” is not good enough imo, it’s not even principled within an anti-colonial, anti-imperialist and pro-human rights worldview
This post is problematic for a number of reasons.

1. For those attempting to make sense of Trump’s victory and the rise of the far-right across Europe - look no further than the PMs statement below.
Whether you like it or not, the far-right has a set of common narratives. We can probably all recite them…
Breaking News: The ICC's Pre-Trial Chamber has just issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
As the int'l community braces for potential repercussions, we must work together to keep the flame of accountbility burning bright. May this time of darkness see the call for Justice grow stronger.

A couple of minutes of crossing South from Gaza City today. Beyond human and material loss. What is not as easily visible is the erasure of the markers of people’s memories, of their connection to their family stories and histories, where they took their first steps, the homes they built with their own hands. All being taken away from them daily. The loss people are experiencing beyond loss of human life and the destruction of the city. #Gaza
Today entering Gaza City. The ruins of life. A donkey laying dead attached to a cart with someone’s possessions. Clusters of people crossing to the South, with too much to walk with under the sun and given the length of the journey. A man carrying a white flag in front of his family. Women about to collapse, dragging bags over the ground, walking backwards, stopping and closing their eyes. A man on the ground in underwear, with soldiers near the checkpoint. A woman presumably crossing with him, stalled, distraught, in desperation. They passed by these ruins. #Gaza #CeasefireNOW
Remember when everyone swore they were just looking for tunnels and hostages? Remember when they said we were hysterical I mean bigots for claiming they would absolutely ethnically cleanse and annex Gaza? Remember when every red line was crossed with total impunity?
you know what; only the fact that my eldest uncle who spent all his life working as the head of Jabalia UNRWA clinic to serve his people is currently trapped in his home without food and water and is expecting murder at any moment drives me crazy. this nightmare is not ending.
