@perrycooks @drivelinebases At least Kyle is actively contributing to the youth athletic community and just you wait, in 5 years, all the dads are gonna be like all the other old school coaches in the MLB, either a part of shitty orgs, or not talking cause no one wants to hear what they have to say.
@perrycooks @drivelinebases Because kids aren’t on Twitter to see his voices opinion on someone who frustrates him cause they don’t bother to try to learn any facts, just like the rest of the baseball community before Driveline came along

The #Reds today promoted Eric Jagers to assistant pitching coach on manager David Bell's major league staff. Jagers joined the organization in November 2019 as assistant pitching coordinator.

There is something to be said about the value of “grit” in youth training. Simple is key IMO. Like getting outside in the cold and bonding with your team during practice (social distancing of course with mask)
Being that it is a holiday celebrating family, I think now is a great time to announce that my wife and I are expecting our first child!
With this exciting news, we have decided that it would be best to be close to family which means a move to Vermont and leaving @DrivelineBB.
A pitching coach becomes more of a therapist/life coach as your mechanics get better and better. You hit the point of diminishing mechanical returns and you focus on other parts of your game and life.

I think it is the context that is the determining factor in how the data can be used. For 12 year olds, I would suggest using some data as a motivator to achieve movement patterns without them internally thinking about movement patterns and more about an objective measurable goal
I now get 12 year olds asking me about the best foreign substances to use to get the best Rapsodo numbers.
What age should we start using data capture like that? And do the numbers really matter at 12?
I struggle with questions like this
