🇱🇹 Near Kaunas, in the village of Saliai, a secret underground printing house operated for many years beneath an ordinary home and greenhouse during the Soviet ☭ occupation of Lithuania and it was never discovered by the KGB.

Deep underground, reached by a narrow staircase, banned publications dealing with Lithuanian history, religion, philosophy, and poetry were printed here, becoming an important part of Lithuania’s resistance to the Soviet system.

Today, the underground printing house “ab” operates as a museum.
