I'm going to use this account to share what I'm learning building it from zero. The wins, the parts I got wrong, and an honest read on where our region is headed.

If you care about keeping talent and jobs in Ventura County, I'd like you along for it.

I left a tech career to start a nonprofit in a county that's losing people.

Ventura County is a net exporter of its own talent. We train people here, then watch them leave for Los Angeles or the Bay Area because there's nothing structured to keep them building at home.

So the problem was never the people. It was the missing infrastructure around them.

That's why I started Startup Ventura, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit startup accelerator serving Ventura County. The whole point is to give early founders a real runway to build here instead of leaving.
