Welcome to the 2019 school year! We have a great year ahead of us. Together we share the privilege of serving 819,000 students to prepare them to lead rewarding and fulfilling lives. Feel free to share my welcome message with staff: https://t.co/m7SlJig1wp #FirstDay2019
We talk a lot about students being engaged. It occurs to me that one of the hallmarks of a great classroom is the TEACHER being engaged. Kids love it when their teacher is active, involved, and energized. And they can tell which ones are really “into it” and which ones aren’t.
Loved this! We all try so hard to ensure our staff know their value our staff and the difference they make in so many ways. We need this in all facets to help maintain longevity of great educators!
The homework we should set-
*one hour extra sleep
*20 mins outside cardio
*small screens off after dinner
*hang with your mates f2f
*join a team/group
*read a book
*write a letter/journal with a ✏️
*tell a yarn and have an argument
*contribute and make a difference
Congratulations to Kaitie, Jade and Elle who placed in our district zone for physie over the weekend and are all going to NATIONALS for BJP Physie to represent NSW in November!
Good luck from all of your NHPS family!
Lesson plans are important, and pedagogy matters... but some of the most important work of teachers, might not be captured by a plan. When teachers encourage, support, inspire, care about, and connect with their students... they are engaged in work that transcends the “plan.”
Awesome day to be involved in PSSA sport. Enjoyed working with students to develop their touch rugby skills today. Thanks to the illawarrior and UOW players for supporting our students. #nhpsstars
RUOK? Day 2018. We created a video to support classroom activities. Our focus is on recognising when people are struggling, starting the conversation, listening and seeking support. #nhpsstars#RUOKDay
Stage 2 are loving the opportunity to focus on improving the way they structure text. We are developing informative texts about a newly discovered creature. From a ‘mountain like tortoise’ to the ‘alienasaurus’ - we are using our creativity and having loads of fun.
Year 5 learning from the best in the business through our word wizards media project. Love working with Kerryn Johnston. #nhpssuperstars @Kerryn_Johnston
