DELETED PHOTO SPARKS CONTROVERSY: ₱1.9B TALISAY FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT UNDER SCRUTINY AS LIVES LOST DURING TYPHOON #TINOPH
A now-deleted promotional post of the ₱1.9 billion Mananga Flood Control Project has ignited public fury as the structure's failure during Typhoon TinoPH resulted in tragic loss of lives.
The removed post by Quirante Construction Corporation and DPWH had promised "protection from extreme flooding" and "community safety," but the devastating reality saw communities submerged and multiple fatalities recorded.
With families mourning their loved ones and residents questioning where the massive flood control budget was allocated, many are demanding accountability for what appears to be another "ghost project" that collapsed when tested by real disaster.
Managot ang dapat managot! When lives are on the line, we should always condemn those who should be held accountable because CORRUPTION KILLS.

Ignoring the issue of money, let’s look at another one of Korina’s palusot.
She conducted the interview daw in November, 2024 way before the start of the campaign period in 2025 for local elections in Pasig.
And she cannot be the judge of evilness - lifestyle feature daw format niya plus November, 2024 was way before the exposes or disclosures about the corruption and tax evasion of the Discayas.
But it doesn’t take even much brain power to remember that filing of candidacy was in October, 2024 and so an interview done and aired in November is part of campaigning - premature or not legally.
Thus, Mayor Vico Sotto’s bigger picture or point about how the media are intentionally or unwittingly helping contractors who profit off taxpayer’s money stands.
And as to judging evilness, no one’s asking Korina to judge the Discayas as evil.
Vico Sotto is only asking media to be more critical - not just air out fluff pieces or deodorizers.
And before November, 2024, Vico Sotto was already making a lot of noise about the unpaid local taxes of Discaya companies to the Pasig LGU.
The connection of the Discayas to St. Timothy and St. Timothy’s connection to Miru Systems for conflict of interest of Discaya, an owner and executive of a government contractor for elections, running for a gov’t position where the elections will use the automated system provided by their contractor (joint venture of Miru and St. Timothy).
So Korina is washing her hands without the facts and logic.
She SHOULD have been more critical of the Discayas even if her format is a lifestyle feature - wasn’t it obvious to ask why government contractors like the Discayas have so much money and why are they running for office after earning so much money already?
If you’re intentionally not looking, then it won’t be obvious. The question is, what can make one journalist look the other way?
