It hasn't helped that Dewsbury-Hall and Ndiaye have dipped lately, but we've sorely missed Grealish in this stretch. He's the one player that retains the ball, draws fouls, offers some hint of control. Everton need calmness and composure to see games out but we get chaos instead.
Everton forgetting how to win at the worst possible time as European hopes disappear. Five winless games defined by missed chances and poor defending. Too often sitting back when ahead, letting beaten opponents regroup and reverting to defence when we needed to stay aggressive.
For the last season at Goodison, we paid a combined £1,100 for one adult and one senior season ticket in the Upper Gwladys. We'll be paying £1,461 for equivalent seats next season. In two years at the new stadium, that's an overall combined increase of 33%.
Mine and my Dad's South Stand season tickets going up 7% next season, more than double the rate of inflation. My Dad's senior ticket was £410 for the last Goodison season. He's paying £626 next season. More money in football than ever but fans still being needlessly exploited.
@slam05 Barry can be clumsy and erratic, certainly needs to be stronger, but the lack of service and support is galling at times. He's expected to perform as a focal point without any help and the nearest teammate is often half the pitch away.
Can't fault the effort but Moyes' recent team selections doing Everton no favours. Best centre-back out of position, no full-backs and no width. No wonder we look short of ideas on the ball as current approach is give it to Dewsbury-Hall or Ndiaye and hope for the best.
Stupid red cards distract from awful showing for Moyes and Everton. Even with this squad, 86 minutes before a substitution is inexcusable, especially once they equalised. We let a terrible Wolves team into the game and then did nothing about it. Good run of fixtures being wasted.
@RchrdPrkr Horrific miss aside, Barry was more effective than Beto, mind. We've invested heavily in a younger group of players and they're barely featuring yet McNeil gets on. He's been awful in his limited action this season and was again tonight.
Everton substitutes having a competition to see who can have the worst cameo. Poor night for Moyes. Strange substitutions and far too reactive once Everton's good start faded. We could've been 3-0 up but slowly fell apart in the last hour.
Everton needed a reaction after Leeds. Today wasn't perfect, but it was a definite improvement. Grealish and Ndiaye are going to be fun to watch this season. Grealish immediately added two traits this team desperately needs: creativity and the ability to simply retain possession.
I'm running the Liverpool half marathon for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity on Sunday. Any donations or sharing the link is much appreciated. Thank you! https://t.co/TBpW2EgJ4T
I'm fundraising for Clatterbridge Cancer Charity by running the Liverpool half marathon in March next year. It's a very important cause to me and my family. Any donations much appreciated. Please feel free to share the link far and wide! Thank you! https://t.co/A7VcxMMR99
Another one for the Everton horror collection. Dyche waited too long to change it, and when he eventually did, he subbed off the two best players while others stayed on running on fumes. Somehow, we've lost a game we should have won by four or five.
Season ends and Dyche seems to forget Keane isn't very good and starts playing him again (same happened last season). Everton also need a right-back or that position could be a big issue this season. Iroegbunam was a rare positive on a day when too many others were miles off it.
@jkozlowski12 They stepped it up second half and we couldn't quite withstand it, though no shame in that. It's just draining when they're also getting gifts from the officials.
Everton beaten by a better team in the end. But the Onana handball was a farce. We've reached the point where every natural position is now unnatural. His arm was exactly where it should be, and Ake is about a yard away. What is he actually supposed to do? Absolute nonsense call.
@whatsasnozberry The referee not giving it but the linesman giving it from much further away just sums up the state of the game. Even without the VAR argument, the general level of officiating is abysmal.
Frustrating not to hold on after leading for so long. Everton needed some help from Dyche, though. Several running on fumes long before the end and we needed some fresh legs to try to ease the pressure. Brighton had made 4 subs while we had Beto doing the world's longest warm-up.
Everton starting to look like a team that understands what Dyche wants and knows how to put it into action on the pitch. Given what's happened in recent years, at the very least, that's a very promising step in the right direction. Saturday will be a good test of that progress.
