@Hillsideviews@mattleeanderson His book length treatment is “Dementia: Living in the Memories of God” but he also has several interviews and lectures on it as well.
@drantbradley Beautiful!
I used to know someone that taught dance lessons as a quasi-form of marriage counseling. She said if she could get them dancing, with their eyes on each other, their conflicts often resolved.
@drantbradley I know some of the dads are reading this right now, just on their own, and feel the same way. I would love that. Let me talk to our staff. What’s the best way to reach back out to you? Again, thank you for all you do!
@drantbradley It’s not an excuse but the biggest issue we run up against on both sides (moms and volunteers) is time. Monthly is what’s most sustainable right now, but you’re right. In our neighborhood, non-profits do this better than churches. Trying to learn them from them.
@drantbradley This is true. Our church has been doing a Mom’s night (not small group) for moms in our neighborhood the last few years and it’s great. We keep the kids & the moms have fun. Still trying to get the same for Dads. Love all your research on Fatherhood and any help we can get.
Beautiful. These kids perfectly illustrate John Swinton’s definition of Christian community w/the difference between inclusion and belonging: “To be included you just need to be present. To truly belong you need to be missed.”
At Glen Lake Elementary, recess is a mixed blessing, in part because their school has many kids with physical disabilities, but no adaptive playground equipment. That is until one 5th-grade class banded together to make sure their school had a playground for everyone.

After visiting EKY, it’s hard not to ask: Why is their hard work constantly met with hardship beyond their control? When this keeps happening, what are they left with…
Nothing but love. A pure love for people and place that somehow outweighs the hardship. And it’s beautiful.
@scottrswain@jake_meador @JustinBorger Dr. Swain, I sent you a private message. I'm doing some of this work at our church in Lexington, KY and would love any help/resources you all have.
