I killed Toriel, then felt sad, so I restarted the game. The game remembered I had killed her before (even tho I hadn't saved the game), and Toriel asked me why I looked like I had seen a ghost. :O Also, I wonder if anyone has made a fan game where you do stay with Toriel?
#RPGMaker2020 It was scary when Flowey started to give me a "tutorial," only to try to kill me. Tutorials in game are almost kind of like being taught life skills by your parents, so to have a tutorial-giving character turn on you is mildly traumatic and puts trust into question.
At the end of the beginning, you have to enter battle with Toriel, again casting doubt on your ability to trust those who seem to want to take care of you. Interestingly, when my HP got low, Toriel's attacks started avoiding me.
This game will have no combat. Every quest to obtain a new vegetable will be done through negotiation, trading, etc. Dame Gothel is fed up with adventurers, so she tries to show your character how to get what he wants without being a jerk to everyone.
#RPGMaker2020 My final project: Rampion Champion. It's based on the Rapunzel fairytale, which begins with a man stealing a vegetable (called "rapunzel" or "rampion") from Dame Gothel's garden for his pregnant wife to eat.
I discovered https://t.co/ffwXvwMnE5, which has a character sprite generator for RM2K/RM2K3. I didn't like the facesets, but I was able to make this nice-looking Gothel sprite. If I had more time I'd do my own art, but I'm recognizing my end-of-the-quarter limitations.

Here's my final project! The soundfont for the web version isdifferent from what it sounds like on RPG Maker, but I don't think that's completely horrible. It sounds a bit more NES-like, and kind of like this track from Gunsmoke: https://t.co/RWSXwyfOVa
#RPGMaker2020 My biome assignment for the MIDI project was "Overworld/Plains." I started by listening to different overworld tracks, then came across the overworld theme for a game called "Wild Arms."

My composition includes leitmotifs from Morricone's The Good, The Bad and the Ugly soundtrack. I also incorporated the melody of the beginning vocals from "Clint Eastwood" by Gorillaz, which was in my head because of the name. https://t.co/PKZnlz9sYz
Not every battle has you use all 100 characters. Some of them use only a few characters, making it a lot simpler to sort through skills and get to know the characters, since each has their own story and personality. The player character Josephine is not even in the party here.
#RPGMaker2020 This is "I Have Low Stats But My Class Is "Leader", So I Recruited Everyone I Know To Fight The Dark Lord," an RPG Maker MV game by Damien Crawford. A game where navigating literally anywhere in your party of 100 characters starts to resemble a game of Snake.
The game's writing has a witty, self-aware style that riffs on RPG and video game tropes, such as the princess always getting kidnapped. Playing as the protagonist, Josephine, the only dialogue you have the option to say is "...", parodying the silent player character trope.
