I can see why you believe they do nothing. Other examples; diabetes II, hypertension, etc. Can be planned and treated without meds and they are every day.

(Idk what drugs repair a cut), and bone cancer is vicious. It will always hurt, especially later stages where the degeneration leads to fractures without injury.
