@josh_snares I found it useful to think of it as something I had to learn to embrace and ultimately appreciate. I also think it takes a long time to learn. How to manage loneliness and how that's different to being alone, and how that relates to ones own agency. Wish you the very best.
My Monday column is on some of the amazing engineering that's come out of the BBC, often in spite of itself and its top management.

@rktook lovely story. I used to find Danny La Rue hilarious as a child and we share the name Daniel too, which in my 7 yr old brain meant kinship. pretty sure my parents saw me in drag too whenever he was on. my cousin reminded me recently of an occasion with my grandmother's fur coat...
@rktook easy! To My Daughter, by Stephen Spender. I wrote a response to it for my own daughter a few years ago if you want to see? 2nd place probably Adlestrop by Edward Thomas or 'Poetry' by Neruda or something by Gerard Manley Hopkins or... (on and on and on....)
@rktook that's so horrible. how to underline the predatory nature of it... to focus on a child and by extension less so on a stronger adult woman. I'm appalled.
