Something clearly happened with a frontier AI model that hasn't been made public and it spooked them so much that it made Elon Musk, Dario Amodei, and Sam Altman all simultaneously agree to slow down.
@AHomelyHouse I get it. We live in a townhome and it’s been all function up until recently when I have been playing an active role in having it play a more Jacobean role. Anyway, I like your work and look forward to the launch of your kickstarter!
@AHomelyHouse That sounds like quite the challenge! As someone who spends a lot of time curating designs for the interiors of tiny homes and given the intricacies of your unique book designs, I would be fascinated to see the finished look of your tiny home interior!
Oddly enough, I have been using GHK>CU (non-pharmaceutical strength) via an OTC serum I buy off of Amazon and swear by. Outside of Botox, I have never seen a product that works so well for aging. I had nothing, except my own anecdotal evidence to go off of when recommending to friends and loved ones but it seems like science confirms my experience.
tazarotene VS tretinoin
both are the most gatekept anti-aging creams on the planet
both require expensive dermatologist prescriptions
and both mog OTC retinols into oblivion…
typical retinols essentially require a 3 steps conversion process once applied, before vitamin A even reaches its active form:
𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙡 -> 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙙𝙚𝙝𝙮𝙙𝙚 -> 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙞𝙘 𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙙
tretinoin & tazarotene already come in the form of retinoic acid
(hence no conversion required to start the anti-aging process).
𝙩𝙖𝙯𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙨: > stronger/aggressive option > excellent for acne, pigmentation, smoothness > very strong photoaging evidence
> huge evidence base for wrinkles + photoaging > excellent for long-term collagen/skin renewal
> faster results than tretinoin
𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨: > more irritation for most people
𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙨:
> easier to titrate
> less irritation in most than tazarotene > equally huge evidence base for wrinkles/photoaging > excellent for long-term collagen renewal > still capable of significant irritation
𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨:
> less effective than tazarotene
if i was a beginner - i’d start with an OTC retinal cream to test irritation response.
if irritation is minimal, move onto tretinoin, then tazarotene
if you’re really about that life, just skip straight to tazarotene (you might save some experimentation time).

Whether or not the Jacob Coxen post is pointing at a likely scenario (Community Notes are lining up), it is evident that we as a society should be prepared for a range of outcomes as AI advances rapidly. Human extinction still seems unlikely, but the threat of a major catastrophic event in the near future is higher than I would have hoped. Years ago, when I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I was taught the importance of home and emergency preparedness. Not to be an alarmist, but I think this is a good time to revisit emergency supplies and plans for yourself and your loved ones. Get yourself in a good spot logistically and spiritually, make adjustments as needed, and then, no matter what, you’ll be prepared for whatever future lies ahead. As the saying goes, “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.”
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
I get sucked into these corny prompts as if I was 12 years old all over again taking a quiz out of Seventeen Magazine; nonetheless, I got Belle from Beauty and the Beast and couldn’t be more pleased. 😀
@2Nep2526 I once watched a fascinating documentary on Newton and how he applied mathmatics to Bibical and scriptural interpretations. I genuinely believe there’s something there. It’ll be interesting to see with the advancement of AI if more will be discovered within our sacred books.
I don’t describe myself as a Disney Adult due to the somewhat negative connotation the title has taken on, but if you were to look within my soul it would be sprinkled with touches of Winnie the Pooh, dashes of Sleeping Beauty, and wrapped in a vessel that looks like the caves within Pirates of the Caribbean. I love artwork that captures the mind and snuggles up to it like a storybook blanket. Any opportunity I have, I choose to spend lost in wonder. One of my earliest memories was sitting on the sofa on a rainy afternoon with a bucket of popcorn watching Cinderella. Fast forward many years later, when the world seems lost in chaos, and my thoughts are left trying to find a passing leaf wading through the wind to which will help my soul take flight. Today’s leaf to which my thoughts were back to Cinderella. I wanted to capture the essence of the Disney take, while giving the setting a modern flair. Which Disney or movie from your childhood takes you away to a happy place?
I’ve never felt so disconnected from the mainstream as far as the lived experience behind being a mom. Modern feminism treats motherhood as a sort of prison sentence, to which is counterintuitive to the very nature of our being. In fact, for me it has been freeing. Prior to being a mother, I was bound by chains of selfishness that pervaded almost every aspect of my life. Career driven, chasing titles, and seeking highs from material aesthetics was the central basis of my existence. Then after I got married and I gave birth to our twins, the meaning of life began to be reveal itself. It was as if the key to my soul and its lifelong pursuit, had fallen on my lap. It’s not to say that it’s all roses every day and there aren’t pitfalls along the way, but being mother is a Heavenly title to which I embrace with every fiber of my being and will continue to wear proudly on into eternity. Many speak of legacy, which now seems to be reduced down to fancy clothes and Instagram worthy vacations, I am proud that as for my family, we have chosen the more traditional route of watching it get sewn like a massive tapestry one generation onto the next.
This is my goal for transforming my home and also the aesthetic to which I am currently leaning on in design. Modern design ruined the idea of beauty and it has infiltrated and affected our own environments.
Top 5 architectural styles I would like to see make a comeback:
1. Baroque/Rococo
2. High Gothic
3. Art Nouveau
4. Victorian
5. Tudor
What would your 5 picks be?
I’ll never forget the time at church when another member was dealing with substance abuse issues. The member sent a long letter and asked for clothing for this individual. While admirable, it didn’t get to the root cause. I provided the member information on ways to help her out of this, lifestyle changes, based on past experience. The member shut me out. It reminds me a lot of how the government handles homelessness. You can clothe and house a person all you want, but if the root causes aren’t addressed, they’ll continue to suffer.
As someone who lives in a location where seasons pretty much fail to exist, this kind of news excites me to the core. I’m mentally preparing myself to be permanently secured to my sofa with the patio slider open and my sketch pad wide open across my lap with a blanket.
Update: This "Super El Niño" will be perhaps the strongest in 500 to 1000 years, and could legitimately be the most extreme global weather or climate event experienced by humanity since the invention of the printing press. Only more extreme situation is a volcanic winter.
@AUSUK_official@brianryhuang@steipete Yea, the vitriol from these individuals is insane, but it needs to be addressed one way or another otherwise some of these unhinged people are going to start acting out.
