The cutest part of the DNC:
Kamala Harris’ nieces teach America how to pronounce her first name as Kerry Washington helps.
I’m sure Trump will continue to disrespect her and say it wrong but oh well. We won’t have to deal with him much longer if you vote!
I don't know who captured this powerful moment but these are the little nuances that I think are most powerful in the @Olympics. A legendary athlete - who has nothing left to prove to anyone on earth, still prepares her mind to achieve superhuman height, form, performance.
I only wish we knew what she was rehearsing, talking about, battling, fending off, or simply finding peace before an explosive performance. @Simone_Biles - you make us all smile and shake our heads in disbelief and admiration. This photo is one of my favorites for some reason!
The calm, the poise, the same socks that I've got on right now ha! The bandage to secure a slight support for the less than 100% calf/achilles. The details!!!! Perfect. @TeamUSA - thank you for this photo.
I am so proud.❤️
The Israeli Olympic team was not allowed to wear the 'Bring Them Home' pin at the Olympic Games, so they formed a 'Bring Them Home' campaign of their own.
We cannot fully live our lives until all the hostages are back home from the hellhole called Gaza.🎗️
So grateful to make my 3rd Olympic team heading to Paris! 🇫🇷 Go team USA! 🇺🇸
Read some of the thoughts on my journey below if you choose. I’m so grateful and blessed! 🥹

In 2001, Warren Buffett gave a talk at the University of Georgia.
He asked them the most Warren Buffett question ever:
• If you could invest in a friend and get 10% of their income for life -- who would you pick?
Once the students answered the question, he then asked this:
• Why would you invest in that person?
• What character traits do they have?
Now they have a list of character traits to adopt.
Shortly after this, Buffett asked:
If you could short a friend's earnings, who would you pick and why?
Now you have a list of character traits to avoid.
----
1. Do not think this thought experiment is only about money.
You can use it for whatever currency you value.
E.g. Happiness coin
If you could get 10% of a friend's happiness, who would you invest in and why?
If you could short someone's happiness, who would you pick and why?
You can run the same thought experiment with Fitness coin, Friendship coin, Romance coin, etc`
2. This thought experiment is genius because it hacks a bug in life's video game:
Humans are terrible at self-awareness.
But we are great at spotting things in other people.
E.g. If your friend is in the wrong relationship, you can realize in 10 minutes what may take them 10 years.
Daniel Kahneman summarised his book on cognitive biases with the following:
“The premise of this book is that it is easier to recognize other people’s mistakes than our own.” - Daniel Kahneman
3. Nuance - It has to be purely from merit.
Buffett says it can't be because someone will inherit a large sum from their parents.
It has to be based on their behavior.
E.g. If you want 10% of someone's fitness coin, it's not because of incredible genetics -- is has to because of the actions they take.
big secret to happiness is just liking stuff. finding more stuff to like. finding ways to like stuff you didn’t before. recognizing what it feels like to like something and doubling down on that. what feels frivolous is actually the whole ballgame
Eleven (yes, 11) reporters on this @washingtonpost story and yet not one mention that the #Israeli hostages were evidently kept not in underground tunnels but in private #Palestinian homes in crowded, multi-story buildings, which would raise disturbing questions about broad complicity in their captivity. https://t.co/MBESSVheXd
Briahna Joy Gray claims she was fired from The Hill because they were suppressing her free speech.
One common trait that defines the horseshoe merging of the far left and far right is possessing a conspiratorial worldview because of a basic lack of understanding of how the world works.
Let’s go through this:
Free speech is a constitutionally protected, First Amendment right. For somebody to take your speech from you, you have to have been afforded that right first. So since the constitution afforded all of us as citizens the right to free speech, it is only a government actor (“state action”) that can pull that right away, in violation of the constitution. It is not possible for a private actor to “suppress” your “free speech” because a private actor does not “give” you the right to speech, nor can they take it from you.
When you are employed by a business, they employ you to provide certain services. As a journalist, you are employed to speak, but this isn’t “free speech.” Your free speech exists independently of your occupation. The content you provide as part of your employment must align with the company’s standards, which any reputable media company will require at the very least, ethical conduct, a commitment to honest reporting, and conforming to journalistic standards of integrity.
Briahna Joy Gray sat on a panel and told the audience that Hamas was seeking to create a democracy in place of Israel, in a state “like the United States.” It would not have even taken 11 seconds of research to quickly debunk this. She also smirked and rolled her eyes at the family of hostages asking her to believe the treatment of women in Hamas captivity, which she still refers to as the “mass rape hoax,” even after the U.N. reported that it found credible evidence of such rapes. These are just two small examples of falling far, far short of the most basic standards of journalistic integrity.
Anyone in such a position should understand that they were way out of their depth and honestly was neither qualified, nor compassionate enough to be doing this work.
The perfect horseshoe merges the self-victimization of the extreme left with the conspiratorial attitude of the extreme right to frame the most justified (and long overdue) termination of all time as a plot to “suppress free speech” by an entity that has no capacity to enact such suppression as a non-governmental actor, and never afforded such a right to deprive her of it.
Personal responsibility is the touchstone of emotional maturity. You are free to act as you choose, but you are not free from the consequences of your actions.
Okay, so let’s talk about the tragic incident that left dozens of Palestinians dead in Rafah over the weekend, and the firestorm on social media that followed.
On Sunday, the IDF located and targeted two Hamas leaders. They were in a Hamas compound a mile away from the humanitarian zone that was created to keep Palestinian civilians safe. There was another unauthorized camp 200 yards away from the compound. Israel launched a precision airstrike targeting only the terrorist leaders, in accordance with international law.
Shortly after the strike, a secondary explosion was heard and a fire erupted near the compound. It is believed that this was caused by Hamas weapons that were stored near the compound. Israel’s strike alone could not have caused this level of damage and destruction. Palestinian eye witnesses also reported that the secondary explosion and fire were caused by Hamas’s weapons.
But, of course media outlets social media activists and celebrities around the world who never heard of Rafah in their lives, were quick to blame Israel for these horrible deaths. Insinuating that Israel did this on purpose. So here is the useful information for everyone. Hamas is hiding among Palestinian civilians and all eyes should be on Hamas. So to everyone posting “All Eyes on Rafah”, without knowing any of what actually happened, I suggest you actually open up your eyes and realize, once and for all, that you are being played by Jihadi terrorist propaganda that is not just causing the death of Israelis and Palestinians, but is coming for you too.
The best parenting advice I ever received:
Make a list of all of the principles and values that you want your child to live by, then go out and actually embody them yourself.
If you want your child to treat your wife like a queen, you’d better treat your wife like a queen.
If you want your child to embrace delayed gratification, you’d better embrace delayed gratification.
If you want your child to do hard things, you’d better do hard things.
Children learn by absorbing. You do not teach a child something by telling them how to do it—you teach them through showing them how it’s done.
Rule: Live the truth you want your child to embrace.
Why can nobody talk about the hostages? Do their lives mean nothing?
Everybody has free license to talk about Gaza, as they should to raise awareness—which I wish would also be applied to the Israeli hostages in Gaza—but such content is never rebuffed and attacked with mass “‘what about’ the hostages?” In response.
It’s actually not possible to talk about the hostages at all. It’s not possible talk about them without being accused of loving genocide. It’s not possible to mourn their tragic deaths without being met with floods of “what about” Gazan death comments, as though it’s a competition.
This is such a cruel fate to enforce upon innocent civilians.
Where is the humanity?
Where are all the human rights organizations? Why are they eerily silent about brutalized young girls held in captivity of violent militias for 7 months, then their disfigured bodies later recovered? Where are the feminists?
You aren’t on the right side of history. If you’re on a “side,” you’re already wrong. Humanity has no sides.
The cruelest monsters in history were also convinced they were on the right side of history, and it’s this conviction in some infallibly correct position with no lines or limits that engenders the greatest acts of evil, all in the name of what’s “right.”
This is not a competition. Your “what abouts” are not just wrong, they are cruel, undignified, and regrettable.
