The 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025 are officially OPEN! ❄️

Unleashing the beauty of ice and snow, #Harbin hosted the grand opening of the 2025 #AsianWinterGames today, with the theme of "Dream of Winter, Love among Asia". It represents another major winter #sports event hosted by China following the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

With the continued progress of the strategy to expand winter sports southward, westward and eastward, ice and snow sports have flourished across China. In east China's Jiangxi Province, "cold ice and snow" are transforming into a "hot economy" 🔥

Stats show Jiangxi now boasts over 10 ice and snow venues, offering not just leisure and entertainment but crucial platforms for fitness. For example, Qixingling International Ski Resort usually welcomes around 130,000 skiers each season from December to March, and simply last year, Yichun City hosted 358,000 ski tourists, generating over 300 million yuan in ice and snow consumption.

"Beijing 2022 was a driving force to expand the winter sports population in China," Yu Zaiqing, a member of the International Olympic Committee once said, "The Harbin Asian Winter Games will also be conducive to promoting winter sports and cultivating talent, leaving lasting cultural, social and sports legacies".
