Amy Poehler says Jon Hamm told her to 'get her shit together' while she was pregnant and grieving her gynecologist's death during SNL rehearsals
"That was 2008. I was pregnant with my son Archie. Hamm was the host. I was supposed to deliver the baby on Sunday."
"So I thought I was going to do the show on Saturday and then deliver the baby the next day."
"We rehearsed all day on Friday. I was in nine sketches that week. Six days before, I had done the Palin rap, I was still feeling pretty good.
"Friday, we're shooting a Mad Men pretape, and I get a call that my OB/GYN has passed away. A wonderful doctor in his 80s, an incredible doctor. He passed away, and I burst out crying on the phone."
"When you see a very pregnant person hysterically crying, it's very scary. Everyone's like, 'Are you okay?' And I said, 'My OB/GYN just died, he died of a heart attack last night.'"
"It gets really quiet, and Hamm leans in and says to me, 'This is a really big deal, and I need you to get your shit together. This is the first time I'm hosting, and I need you to pull it together, it's a big week for me.'"
"And I go from crying to laughing so hard, tears squirting out, I start clapping and laughing."
"He made me laugh so hard, and I went into labor that night."

His method was simple: he approached his victims while pretending to be carrying a heavy load. He asked the children, “My luggage is heavy. Could you help me carry it?” When they came closer to help him, he threatened them with a weapon or assaulted them with a metal pipe, abducted them, and raped them.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison. While incarcerated, he repeatedly assaulted other inmates and threatened prison officers. He was also identified as the perpetrator of another child-sexual-abuse case that had remained unsolved for 16 years. He received an additional five-year sentence for obstructing the performance of official duties, assault, and raping a minor. As a result, although he was originally scheduled to be released in 2022, his release was postponed until 2027.
The prosecution argued that Kim Geun-sik should undergo medication treatment to suppress his sexual urges, commonly referred to as “chemical castration.” However, the court rejected the request, stating that it could not conclusively determine that he posed a risk of committing another sex offense.
