Swahili is a cornerstone language of East Africa, spoken by over 200 million people globally and ranking among the top 10 most spoken languages in Africa (Actually, the most spoken in Africa).
Today, over at Crane AI Labs (@Crails_Inc ) we introduce the first of the Crane Gemma family of models. The Swahili Gemma models are fine-tuned using @UnslothAI specifically for English–Swahili translation & Swahili conversational AI.
This release introduces the 1B variant, with larger models planned for the future. Its key capabilities include translation from English to Swahili, in-context question answering, summarization, and basic conversation.

@nickfloats@boymolish This is the end of instagram models. Curious if fashion brands would pay for a service where ai “models” would try on their clothes for a fraction of the price and instant results
