I've said it before and will do so again. Anyone can be independent in football, this is not just for #NotreDame. If you think it's such an easier way of life, push your team to do it. If they can't due to lack of resources or being a regional not national brand, well that's your problem. Keep relying on the conference money you need to exist
@bezuidengoy@J5_Sports1 Again, you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. All of the power conferences and the G6 are also lobbying to get more beneficial arrangements for themselves. ND just appears to be better at it.
First it was Arsenal are no longer a big 6 club. Then it was Arsenal can’t get into top 4. Then they said we will never compete for the league. Then they said we will never win it. Now they will say we can never win a Champions league. Please don’t let rivals rattle you.
Notre Dame was ranked No. 9 and Alabama was ranked No. 10 in Week 14.
Notre Dame won at (4-8) Stanford 49-20, Alabama won at (5-7) Auburn 27-20.
Alabama JUMPS Notre Dame, swapping spots at 9 and 10.
Fast forward to this week, Alabama gets SMASHED by UGA, and ND doesn’t play.
Alabama stays at No. 9 and Notre Dame falls another spot to No. 11, despite the four teams behind them losing/not playing.
I don’t care if you think Notre Dame should’ve missed the playoff all along, but the committee just contradicted everything they stood for the past month.
Disgraceful decision making.
I am not a referee conspiracist.
They are humans, and I’ve learned to never assume malice where incompetence will do.
Every fan will tell you their team gets it the worst, and if you think refs are subject to bias, so are you as a fan.
But these are 3 PRECEDENT SETTING refereeing decisions by the same referee, against the same team, managed by the same guy, in the space of a few years.
Myles - you’ll never see that again in the sport. Ever. Nowhere near last man, absolute vintage tactical foul. VAR immediately clears.
Martinelli - you’ll never see someone given two yellows in the same phase of play ever again in the sport. Tell me another time it happened.
Trossard - you’ll never see someone sent off that quick again for a ball being “kicked away”. He’s blowing AS HE KICKS. I’ve never seen it happen before or since.
Let alone the other stuff he’s done while refereeing us (Kovacic, ignoring kicking balls away etc).
These aren’t “standard” reds.
David Coote openly admits he disliked Jurgen Klopp.
So do Arsenal not have a case to at least ask a question about Michael Oliver at this point? Or raise an enquiry?
For the “Notre Dame is always overrated ever year” crowd:
Notre Dame’s recent preseason and postseason AP poll rankings.
• 2023: Started #13, finished #14
• 2022: Started #5, finished #18
• 2021: Started #9, finished #8
• 2020: Started #10, finished #5
• 2019: Started #9, finished #12
• 2018: Started #12, finished #5
• 2017: Started unranked, finished #11
Outside of 2022, Notre Dame has been one of the most accurately-ranked teams, if not even underrated, in AP preseason polls.
young arsenal squad lost to treble winning ultra team with infinite finances, the terminator up front and 110 breaches thats what i will be telling my children
