Tourism remains one of Africa’s strongest pathways to growth. It creates jobs, supports local businesses and gives the world a chance to experience the richness of our cultures and landscapes.

In Kenya, wildlife safaris continue to draw visitors to the Maasai Mara and Amboseli. Morocco welcomes millions to its historic cities of Marrakech and Fez. South Africa’s Cape Town and Kruger National Park remain among the most visited sites on the continent. Egypt’s pyramids and the Nile are global attractions, while Tanzania’s Serengeti and Zanzibar highlight the link between nature, heritage and community.

Sustainable tourism is about more than numbers. It is about protecting the environment, ensuring communities benefit, and presenting Africa’s stories with dignity and authenticity.

On World Tourism Day, we celebrate not only the destinations but also the people whose work makes travel across Africa possible. Tourism is one of the bridges between Africa and the world, and its future must be sustainable, inclusive and transformative.
