@emmettoconnell It's probably easy to actually get from one property to the other on foot, but very difficult with wheels (bike, car, wheelchair).
Really, it's a serial killer's dream. "I hop a fence to evade police and they have to drive a mile to get to the yard I jumped into."
@meghan_collie One reason pets become homeless is because their people die. Planning for the future of your pets in the event of your death is a thing.
It's getting too cumbersome to talk about LED bulbs in "watt equivalents". Do I have to learn lumens at some point? In 50 years will we still say "it's a 40 watt equivalent bulb" ?
@meghan_collie omg, I hadn't considered that. I don't even own decent clothing. I have Olympia grunge and fancy dresses and no middle ground. I hope I am not called for jury duty.
@j3rrytron "Maybe gnawing anxiety isn't as bad as the crippling helplessness and frustration I feel every time I call my insurance who keeps referring me to therapists who aren't taking new patients."
@CrankyOtter Foot fungus is basically always on your feet and in your shoes. Cleaning and drying your feet keeps it from being a problem. If anything having to take off their shoes would decrease the likelihood of foot fungus infections, if their toes dried out before they put shoes back on.
@RomancingNope I'd love to be able to offer studio or 1BR units around $1000/month, but there's no way to do that at anything other than a loss.
New housing units are being built, but they are mostly single family, and in the high 6 figures.
@RomancingNope I am interested in buying or building rental property (for reasonable rates, I want to actually increase affordable housing available in my area). Currently the cheapest homes available on the market are over $400K, and building a unit costs $40K per unit in fees to the city.
