@lukeja@agile_phil@privatehireguy Or what if I have 6 hours overnight, and then start charge just from solar the following morning? I assume I just need to turn off smart charging so the hours don't count as the more than 6? Or vice versa I charge for 7 hours on solar during day and finish with hour smart charge?
@agile_phil@privatehireguy What if you use your own generated solar to top up the six hours?
Surely your statement should say "you get six hours of smart EV charging a day"?
You can't charge me for two hours of using my own free electric?
@agile_phil Also the charge history needs to show on a 12pm-11:59am date (not 0:00-23:59) so it's clear which days you have exceeded 6 hours of smart charging. It also needs to show time spent charging, not just time plugged in and available.
@agile_phil Hi Phil - think there are some improvements to the App that would help this change.
When looking at usage, it would help if an additional colour was introduced to show difference between peak rate, car smart charging and off peak.

@_KoLAN_80@smil3r5@agile_phil@philippac72 So during the summer do I just need to turn off smart charging on a sunny day? That seems counter intuitive, as very sunny days can end up being cheaper too, and surely Octopus wants to offer slots in cheaper periods.
@agile_phil This needs to be right, otherwise it becomes a disincentive to using solar. And no I don't want to sell the surplus back as I'm still on a FiT.
@agile_phil Alternatively I may have charged up to 70% on solar during the day, but need 90% by the following morning (extra ~ 2 hours). Will you be able to differentiate the charging sessions to ensure only charged for the 2 hours intelligent charging and nothing at peak?

@RobertBoswall Could this be helped by further adjustments to the price cap? If Ofgem lower the cap would it force prices down across the market? Or does it need a wholesale cap?
I agree on locational pricing, but surely even more needs to be done?
@au_tom_otive @OxfordshireCC I'm struggling to understand what the ongoing operating costs of a charging channel are. Shouldn't the responsibility for keeping the channel clear of any detritus be with the house owner?
