A lot Christians on here ignorantly act like Iranian society was way more moral, civilized, and tolerant just before it became muslim. People who know history know that's not the case. Before the islamic conquests of Iran. The Zoroastrian Iranians launched am unprovoked brutal war and invasion of the Christian Roman/Byzantine Empire and did something no muslim army ever did. They razed Jerusalem to the ground. Sacking the city and slaughtering its inhabitants, destroying most of its Churches, and stealing the Holiest relics in all of Christianity. The Iranian Zoroastrian Army faked peace negotiations with the Roman/Byzantine Emperor to trick the Emperor into leaving the Imperial capital and when he left Constantinople they besieged the city and nearly destroyed Christian civilization. The Iranian Zoroastrians also instigated the Ephesian Schism. The first major permanent Schism in the history of Christianity. The Zoroastrian Iranians used their influence to force the Assyrian Church of the East to Schism from the rest of Christianity and follow the nestorian heresy. Also, in 450-451 A.D. the Zoroastrian Iranians launched a brutal invasion of Armenia with the sole intention of wiping out Christianity there. The Armenian General, Saint Vartan, sacrificed his life to save the Christian faith of his people in a bloody battle that the Armenians won. In addition, before the islamic conquests, there was widespread incest among the Zoroastrian Iranian Aristocracy, and not simply the cousin marriage kind. The islamic conquests made Iran a more peaceful, civilized, and less degenerate society than it was prior during its Zoroastrian Era. So don't be surprised seeing all these secular liberal diaspora iranians acting like barbarians and degenerates.
