Every now and then I think of the Nintendo-tuber who came back after a long hiatus to release a video about his intentions to become a Benedictine monk, apologize for not actually playing the games he talked about, and disavowing all his reviews.
@jonbrooks Love it when a "collapse" is a mild 3% retraction. Like wow the same apartment was $75 more per month last year. That's really gonna make it affordable for people now. 😤
@mayuhappy831 When the Titanic sank it was women and children first. Famously there are instances of many men giving up seats to allow women or children into lifeboats and dooming themselves to a watery grave.
Western society believes that taking care of someone is calling them.
@tomiyasu16 Uh no. San Francisco is dead. Go south to Cupertino. Or silicone valley.
A combination of corporate greed, unstopped crime, and terrible politics ruined San Francisco.
The Korean Virgin Who Chose Honor, Faith, and Martyrdom🇻🇦🩸
She was stripped of her clothes.
She was tortured.
She was thrown into a prison cell with violent men in an attempt to break her spirit.
But she refused to deny Jesus Christ.
The Church now honors her as St. Columba Kim Hyo-im, one of the heroic Korean Martyrs.
Born in 1814 in Korea, Columba grew up in a Catholic family during a time when Christianity was brutally persecuted. She consecrated her virginity to God and devoted her life entirely to Jesus Christ.
When government officials arrested her for being a Christian, they imprisoned her alongside her younger sister, St. Agnes Kim Hyo-ju.
The authorities hoped torture, humiliation, and fear would force them to renounce their faith.
Instead, they remained steadfast.
According to historical accounts, Columba and Agnes were stripped naked, beaten, and thrown into a prison cell with hardened male prisoners, where they endured terrible abuse and humiliation.
When they were finally brought before the judge and sentenced to death, Columba courageously spoke against the injustice they had suffered.
She declared:
"Whether she is the daughter of a noble or a commoner, the chastity of a young woman has the right to be respected. If you wish to kill me according to the law of the country, I will willingly accept the punishment. But it is not right that I should suffer insults that are not part of the law."
Her fearless words astonished the court.
The judge was so moved that he ordered those responsible for the abuse to be punished.
But he did not spare the sisters.
Because they refused to abandon Christ, Columba and Agnes were sentenced to death.
On September 26, 1839, they were beheaded, joyfully offering their lives to the Lord they loved above all else.
More than a century later, recognizing their heroic witness, Pope St. John Paul II canonized them among the 103 Korean Martyrs on May 6, 1984.
St. Columba Kim Hyo-im reminds us that true dignity comes from belonging to Christ. Even when stripped of every earthly protection, she refused to surrender her faith, her purity, or her courage.
Her witness proclaims that human dignity must always be respected, that evil can never triumph over truth, and that those who remain faithful to Christ will receive an eternal crown.
St. Columba Kim Hyo-im and St. Agnes Kim Hyo-ju, pray for us🇻🇦🙏🏻
We made the film INDEPENDENCE DAY patriotic by divine intervention because the producer is a woke Hillary Clinton fund raiser who is not patriotic at all! He thought he was making fun of America’s spirit. Boy does he regret casting me. 🤣🤣🤣 Up yourrrrs, Roland!
@joeywreck@nypost Your opinion is discarded. You don't believe Jesus is God and that He is the only way to heaven. Any thoughts you have on this topic are trivial at best and purposely deceptive.
