The point is that it is impossible to graphically reduce a sphere to a 2D projection.

However, the oft-used Mercator Projection is hopelessly distorted & was/is a means to artificially exaggerate America & Europe at the expense of Africa.

It's also a misnomer that Mercator is necessary for GPS & navigation. This is simply a lie - GPS uses latitude, longitude, altitude, & time. This has sweet nothing to do with Mercator.

Let's popularise the Equal-Earth Map - not perfect, but definitely a lot more accurate than the insanely warped Mercator version.

BBC uses a tragedy as a political tool to spew its own China-bashing propaganda, but audiences have been watching China's television and social media broadcasting the mudslides 24/7. They know BBC is lying.

Think about that.

India’s anti-China propaganda trolls have been relentlessly spreading rumors and slandering China since the disaster began.

Now Indian media are asking Beijing whether Indian tourists have been rescued.

A glacier collapsed in Nepal.
The disaster surged into China.

Chinese rescue workers risked their lives searching for both their own citizens and foreign tourists.

And even then, India’s anti-China propaganda apparatus kept manufacturing lies and smearing China.

Not even after learning that more than 130 of the missing tourists were Indians could they stop.

That is what makes this disaster so revealing.

One side sent soldiers, engineers and rescue teams into the mud.

The other side had propagandists manufacturing anti-China fantasies before their own missing compatriots had even been accounted for.

The contrast is not just technological or institutional.

It is educational.
It is civic.
It is moral.

And yes, much of this hostility toward China is driven by resentment of a reality they cannot stand:

China has outperformed India in industrial capacity, infrastructure, technology, state capacity and disaster response — and no amount of anti-China hysteria can erase that gap.

When envy becomes propaganda, and propaganda survives even your own people’s suffering, what remains is not patriotism.

It is moral decay wearing nationalism as a costume.
