@bicycle_network The physics is absurd: in my local park the speed limit is 30kph. A small car at 30kph has ~3x kinetic energy of bike at same speed. 1/2
@bicycle_network Bike would need to go over 100kph to match, but car going 35kph has ~1.5x incr energy. Massive fines for bikes c/w cars flies in the face of the reversed energies involved. 2/2
@1SarahJaneSmith @stuperbug @NjbBari3 Yes, broadly. Unfortunately <5 micron size became dogma for Airborne for decades without it being clear where the number came from. There is not distinct cutoff where Airborne stops. And in any case is probably much bigger than 5micron (more like 100 micron?)
@1SarahJaneSmith @stuperbug @NjbBari3 Droplet is bigger particles that fall with gravity quite close to source. 1950s research then focused on TB which has to land deep in lungs to infect. Crucial size here is 5 microns. Unfortunately this then generalised to all infectious agents without actually being tested 2/n
