CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

*Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un.*
With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah (SWT), I received with profound sadness the news of the passing of the Makinta of Fika Emirate, an elder statesman and distinguished community leader whose life was marked by service, wisdom and commitment to the development and well-being of his people.

I fondly recall our last meeting, when he joined the delegation of the Fika Emirate Council to formally present to me the letter conveying the conferment of the traditional title of Jigon Fika. That encounter has now assumed an even deeper meaning for me. I will continue to cherish the memory of his presence, goodwill, counsel and fatherly disposition on that memorable occasion.

His passing is a great loss to his immediate family, the Fika Emirate, his community, Yobe State, and indeed all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. While we mourn his departure, we take consolation in the fact that every soul must return to its Creator and that a life devoted to service leaves memories that endure beyond death.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family; His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa II, CON, CFR, Emir of Fika and Chairman, Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers; Fika Emirate; and his entire community.

*Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu, wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu.*
May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him the highest station in Aljannatul Firdaus. May Allah grant his family, the Fika Emirate and all those mourning him Sabr Jameel and the strength to bear this painful loss.

I’ll vote for Tinubu again. Not because his reforms haven’t caused pain, but because I believe the cost of avoiding them would be greater. Atiku’s alternatives seem too simplistic and implausible. For me, preserving an unsustainable status quo is the bigger risk.

Earlier, I inaugurated the Yobe State 25-Year Development Plan (SDP 2050) Finalization Committee, in line with the directive of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, COMN, to bring this important long-term planning process to a timely and credible conclusion.

The SDP 2050 is more than a planning document; it is intended to serve as Yobe State’s long-term development compass—providing continuity beyond political and administrative cycles, guiding investment and resource allocation, and translating our aspirations into measurable outcomes.

I charged the Committee to work with urgency and technical discipline to deliver, within shortest possible time, a realistic, financially credible and implementable Plan that connects our 25-year vision to sector strategies, annual budgets, capital programmes and institutional performance.

Our responsibility is clear: to define where Yobe should be in the next 25 years, what we must do to get there, what we must invest, and how we will measure progress.
