Choosing appropriate BAME picturebooks:A thread.
I’d like to talk about my 2nd year placement and the impact that teaching has on children. In a KS1 class I was presented with the opportunity to introduce the topic ‘Africa’ and handed a copy of Handa’s Surprise #edutwitter (1/8)

I am looking for people to support my MSc dissertation project on the influence of personality on our wellbeing.
If you are 18+ & fluent in English, and have 10-15 minutes, please consider my anonymous survey via the link. #psychology #researchproject https://t.co/uZWPesNdoB…

A very special evening at @TheStoryMuseum with @JosephACoelho It was the greatest pleasure to be able to ask Joe about representation in children's literature, word-weaving & the importance of librarians and libraries to help children see that they are not alone

Using ‘pass it to Kevin’ and nominating a child to be Kevin, instead of gathering up paper/books, is my current favourite Christmasified boring activity in Year 5! They love it!

One bit of advice I always give kids: hang on to the books that you love right now, your favourites. Look at them again in 10 years, 20 years, 30 years. You might just find they were the most important books you ever read: the books that shaped your mind, and changed your life.

[Jordan Taylor | ADHD Author @attentionfixed]

Teachers often don't know what to do to help #ADHD kids until they start asking the right questions. I have ADHD and I'm a teacher. I wrote a list of 17 questions for parents to ask in school meetings. These ?s will help the teacher help your kid ->

2 years down the line (& almost 2 years of teaching) we got our Graduation. I feel rather proud of myself and felt emotional hearing my name and award on stage - it actually felt real. The closure and celebration with pals was perfect. It’s a bonus that my class are proud of me.
