Panthers run away with it in the second half, forcing multiple turnovers (with a pick 6️⃣‼️) and a strong passing attack to compliment the run game, beating the Bluejackets 35-10 to celebrate Homecoming and support Tackle Cancer Night!
When you're starting out, you want everyone to KNOW how hard you're working.
Eventually you realize:
You don't need to tell anybody.
Just keep stacking days.
The results will tell the story.
I see a ton of posts about players finding new opportunities to join new AAU programs, many to get the chance to compete at a higher level. I'm happy for those players & the new doors that may open.
I also feel for the players that lost their roster spots & have to find a new home, maybe can't afford to stay with a program or try as they might can't reach some of their goals yet.
Like life, basketball has its ups & downs, keep chasing your dream & stay firm in the belief that the right coach & the right opportunity will find you, maybe when you least expect it. Sometimes what feels like a step back may help you take 2 steps forward.
Steph Curry says the first test of whether someone really wants to become great is if someone has to tell them to go to the gym
“I always tell kids now, nobody should have to tell you you should go to the gym, right? As a kid I was that type of kid, I was going to find a gym wherever.”
“My dad played in the league, so it’s not like the access wasn’t there, but he couldn’t be the one telling me it’s this time, ‘What we doing today?’ If I’m not the one pushing that, start there.”
“It always became just a joy of finding ways to get better. Every day I was just exploring, trying stuff. Never really satisfied with the level that I was shooting. Even if I had the greatest workout, I’m probably thinking about the couple of misses that I had. I was always curious about how can I get better the next session?”
“Just exposing myself to different thought processes, being uncomfortable, getting in gyms with players better than me.”
“If you’re not getting anything out of it, there’s that internal voice that’s like, ‘I probably coasted today.’ Or, ‘No, I did something. I got something out of this today.’..”
“When I got to the league, I thought I was preparing myself for the NBA journey… Just putting myself around people who knew what they were talking about and pushing me in the right direction.”
What if problem is not CLA vs drills OR rule sets, tactical decisions OR trainer vs club vs school. The obstacle from youth up is the number of participants &parents wanting to play/succeed but not wanting coaching. They want organization but not correction or accountability.
I’ve been trying to sound the alarm on vaping for YEARS. Vapes contain > 30 chemicals and are highly addictive. Vaping is becoming increasingly problematic amongst student athletes..
This is the best pregame habit to start games stronger 🧠
