Mr. @DavidGrayRhodes, Executive Chairman of @SkyNews Group,
I hope you are well. I congratulate you on the success of your network worldwide under your leadership. However, I would like to draw your attention to a deeply concerning development that risks jeopardizing the global journalistic reputation of Sky News Group.
@SkyNewsArabia , based in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has emerged as the (only) international media outlet consistently acting as a propagandist in support of two malign militias in the Middle East: the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan and the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Yemen. Its coverage has repeatedly obscured, minimized, or ignored well documented crimes, including massacres, looting, and widespread sexual violence, committed by these militias. More troublingly, it has gone beyond omission to actively support and legitimize these groups through disinformation and crude propaganda that is readily apparent to any objective observer.
By operating under the respected international Sky News brand, Sky News Arabia appears to be providing cover for politically motivated disinformation. This stands in stark contrast to the journalistic integrity traditionally associated with the Sky News network and to the findings of UN reports and credible international human rights organizations, which have consistently documented and exposed these grave human rights violations. Yet Sky News Arabia continues to shield and blatantly promote these terror militias.
I am confident that you will recognize the seriousness of this matter and initiate an urgent, high-level, independent review committee to investigate these practices thoroughly and impartially.
Best wishes,
Salman Al-Ansari
