@pruett_jordan @drumm_colin he's not denying people can be seduced. it's more like, victims of sexual abuse cannot (freud thinks) account for every case of hysteria, and more fundamentally, he loses faith in the ability of psychoanalysis to decide on the fact/fantasy distinction, and so does away with it.

it's a great question that puts mfat in an awkward position. they have *twice* told select committee that NZ can't have contributed to yemeni civilian casualties. but officials can't "rule out" arms exports' use in yemen.
