On #EmployeeAppreciationDay2024, we’re joining other health unions to encourage NHS employers and staff to make better use of flexible working.
Let’s show our people they’re valued. Let’s create a better NHS for staff AND patients. Let’s #TalkAboutFlex. https://t.co/eGR6yGC4ZD
Earlier this week, I posted about the critical leadership role of building belonging at work. Several people asked me about how we measure belonging. So I wanted to highlight this study from @Coqual_ , USA. Using a ten point scale, based on four elements, they showed:
1) people who feel a strong sense of belonging are less likely to leave
2) race and gender make a significant difference to how much people feel a sense of belonging
3) people born in another country have some of the lowest belonging scores at work
4) extroverts have higher belonging scores than introverts
5) senior leaders have the highest belonging scores

New video from @cvisim.
We all know the 'one child in every class' with #CVI statistic.
This video was created to show that 'form' of CVI, in consultation with affected individuals.
Wow! Shows clearly why 80% have difficulties in school.

A seasonal concept for improvement: the Christmas tree effect. This is where we keep adding new features as part of our improvement approach (like ornaments on a tree). We can end up hurting the overall system, even if each individual new feature is a positive. We humans are hardwired to add things to solve problems. We often overlook better solutions that involve taking things away. We need to give subtraction a more central role in our improvement efforts says @DavidEpstein: https://t.co/JJ9snbv5tK.
