Louis Sarkozy, the son of the former President of France, says those who took part in the rioting and looting at the weekend have done more to boost Marine Le Pen's election chances than her own campaign staff, and that her strategy is to let France disintegrate.

Last year, I went to Lagos, Nigeria 🇳🇬, where I visited Computer Village, the largest electronics market in the country. All of the used cell phones there came from China 🇨🇳.
So on my recent trip to China, I wanted to find the source at the other end of this supply chain.
My journey in Guangzhou started in Xiaobei, known as "Little Africa", where I met Mama Alhaja and her son Toye, who were buying goods to ship home and sell in Abuja.
They told me about another place - the Shengxian Dashatou Second-Hand Trade Market, where thousands of Africans source used electronics. There, I met Ousman, a Senegalese trader living in Guangzhou.
We talk a lot about China's trade with the US. But I think China’s trade with emerging markets is one of the most important forces in the global economy, and one of the least examined. So I got on the plane to explore it for myself.

Pelumi Joseph on why Dangote is selling his Refinery IPO
He says it's not doing it because he needs the money. His target of 10 million investors is an equivalent of an electoral base.
Which gives him insurance against government intervention and protects his refinery.
I didn’t fully understand the concept of mortgages vs Rent until I invited a financial advisor to my home while living in the Netherlands 🇳🇱.
Growing up in Nigeria 🇳🇬, all I knew was that my parents would take loans year after year to gradually build their house. That was my understanding of homeownership. I wasn’t really educated on how mortgages worked or how buying a home could compare financially with renting.
So one day, I invited a Dutch financial advisor to our home.
My wife and I welcomed him into our living room, and we started discussing our financial situation.
He asked several questions about our income, expenses, savings, and even requested some supporting documents.
Then he proceeded to educate us on how we could build wealth through homeownership.
He introduced me to a website called Funda, where we could search for properties within our budget.
I started searching for houses, and when we eventually found one we liked, he ran the numbers and calculated what our monthly mortgage payment would look like.
To our surprise, the monthly mortgage payment was LOWER than what we were paying in rent! 😭😂
I was like, wait ooo, so we could actually own a house and pay less monthly than what we’re paying someone else’s landlord? 😂😂
But there was one challenge!
We couldn’t find anything affordable in the city where we were renting.
However, we eventually found a perfect home about 30 minutes away.
That meant I would have to give up my daily bicycle rides to work and start commuting instead. 😂
Thankfully, my employer covered public transportation costs from anywhere in the Netherlands to the office.
So basically, I could commute to work for FREE! 😂
That solved the problem!
We proceeded with the mortgage application, got approved, and eventually moved into our own home! 🏡🇳🇱
And here’s the interesting part:
Throughout the time we owned that house, our monthly housing payments never reached what we had previously been paying in rent!
We even had MORE SPACE than we did in our rented apartment!
Of course, buying a home comes with other costs and responsibilities, and it isn’t automatically the better financial decision for everyone.
But in our own case, it turned out to be a very good decision.
Now, let me tell you the most interesting part of this story. 😭
When we eventually decided to relocate to the United States 🇺🇸, we realized that we had actually built up equity in our Dutch home!
Something we wouldn’t have accumulated through rent payments if we had continued renting.
We eventually sold the property, and the equity we had built became a major part of the down payment for our first home in America! 🇺🇸🏡
Imagine that! A house we bought in the Netherlands helped us become homeowners in the United States.
That’s when I truly appreciated what that Dutch financial advisor had taught us in our living room.
One lesson I learned is that sometimes, getting an affordable home means being willing to live a little farther from your workplace, especially when you’re working with a limited budget.
And sometimes, all you need is someone who understands the financial system to sit you down and explain the opportunities available to you.
Financial education is really important!
My mother was very close to her and instrumental in helping her and her husband leave Assemblies of God and join Christ Embassy, which her son founded. I have never seen my mother so sad, not even when my father died. May she rest in peace.
I think we'll see 5x the number of people become hardware and robotics founders over the next 18 months
Why? Because you can rent every step, from design to manufacturing:
DESIGN
- Astra to drive Blender, FreeCAD, and KiCad the way a person would, so you get editable geometry instead of a dead render. Zoo dot dev's text to CAD API if you want it programmatic.
- Or have Claude write build123d code, which is Python parametric CAD, and there's a Claude Code plugin that runs it and exports the STL for you.
PROTOTYPE
- Bambu A1 mini is $299, P1S around $399 on sale. Or skip owning one, JLC3DP prints and mails it for about $20. PCBWay does resin, SLS, and CNC if plastic won't cut it.
ELECTRONICS
- KiCad for the board, Astra can drive it. JLCPCB fabricates and assembles, often under $100 for a small run. ESP32 for wifi, Raspberry Pi if it needs a brain.
ANYTHING THAT MOVES
- Unitree sells a Go2 with a full SDK for about $2,500.
- Hugging Face put out a $399 open-source biped.
- LeRobot gives you the whole train in sim, deploy to real pipeline, and Physical Intelligence open-sourced π0 so you're fine-tuning instead of starting from zero.
- Prototype the policy in MuJoCo or Isaac Lab first.
MANUFACTURING
- Alibaba RFQ for the first 100 units. Check 1688 to see what the factory actually charges domestically, then negotiate. Pietra or Sourcify if you want someone to handle it.
FULFILLMENT AND SELLING
- ShipBob or Amazon FBA. Shopify for the store, TikTok Shop for distribution, Kickstarter if you want the money before you build it.
How to think about starting your own robotics or hardware company:
1. Pick a niche that's already buying weird gear. Cyclists, tabletop gamers, beekeepers, home baristas, dog people with mobility issues. These groups spend money on specific objects and complain in public about what doesn't exist. Or grab ideas off https://t.co/QxoITW16zr
2. Go read the complaints. Reddit, IG etc Search "I wish someone made," "does anyone make," and "modified my." That last one is the best signal, because someone already hacked the product together and you're just manufacturing what they built by hand.
Also check Etsy!! If 3 sellers are doing a janky 3D printed version with 400 reviews each, the market is validated.
3. Make one. Describe it to Astra or Claude, get the CAD, print it in ugly gray PLA, use it, fix it.
4. Only go to Alibaba or similar once you've sold a few. Message 10 suppliers through RFQ, take the third cheapest, always pay the $50 for a sample before the real order.
5. Film everything from day 1. The first ugly print, the failed version, the box of 100 arriving. That's your entire marketing budget, and hardware is one of the few categories where people actually want to watch the thing get made.
6. Raise the price. Almost everyone here anchors on what the plastic cost. Your customer is comparing you to nothing, because the alternative is the product doesn't exist. Start at 5x COGS and go up.
THIS GOAL OF THIS POST IS JUST HERE TO GET YOUR CREATIVE JUICES FLOWING. Of course, you can build robotics/hardware in a bunch of different ways.
One thing I've learned is data couldn't be more important when you're building a hardware/robotics startups.
These models learn from first person video of a human doing the task, and that footage doesn't exist for almost any job.
So basically you pick one repetitive job people quit over, film someone doing it for 2 weeks, fine-tune π0 on that footage, use organic to sell the first few units and figure out scaling,
5 years ago you needed a factory, a supply chain, and a $1M just to find out if anyone wanted the thing.
Now, anyone can become a hardware/robitics founder.
And I suspect a lot of people will become one!
Vibe manufacturers.
I did my Masters degree at 36.
I moved to the United States at 38.
I joined the US Army at 39.
I got my US Citizenship at 40.
I started my PhD at 41.
I am building an African Play Center at 42.
Just do it. You will grow older anyway, so why don't you age with impact, influence and income?
my dad was a fucking rocket engineer who taught me something that made me RICH
wasn't some soft ass "believe in yourself" bs
it was QUICK MATH (keep reading it's saucy)
this man ran calculations for missile trajectories in the military. could tell you impact coordinates in his head while other guys needed computers. but he'd say "close enough is better than perfect too late"
"347 divided by 45? about 7. move the fuck on."
he'd make me calculate brutal equations instantly. not perfectly. INSTANTLY. because in real situations perfect math gets you killed while you're calculating
meanwhile you common folk are sitting with your calculator app making sure you got the EXACT answer while opportunities are flying past at 1000mph
this is why you're easy to kill in business...
you're trying to be PRECISE when you need to be FAST
business decision? you want 22 spreadsheets and three consultants' opinions. your competitor already launched, failed, pivoted, and is banking while you're on slide 73 of your market analysis like some soft as baby shit analyst
pricing your service? you're researching statistics for weeks. just pick a fucking number that scares you and TEST IT. wrong? change it tomorrow. you lost one day not six months.
"but what if i'm wrong?"
YOU WILL BE WRONG YOU FUCKING MORON
difference is i'm wrong in 5 seconds and correct in 10. you're still thinking about maybe being wrong next year while i'm already counting money
my first agency? picked price out of thin air. $5k/month felt insane. someone paid instantly. raised to $10k next day. then $20k. found the ceiling in 3 weeks.
you would've surveyed 100 people and ended up at $2k because that's what the statistics said was "reasonable"
quick math beats perfect math EVERY FUCKING TIME
hiring? meet them, trust your gut, done. "but what about background checks..." shut up. you know in 10 minutes if someone's solid or soft as baby shit. everything else is corporate theater.
launching products? ship at 70% and fix it live. "but what if..." what if you die waiting for perfect? at least i'm getting paid while fixing bugs instead of perfecting something nobody wants.
here's what overthinking really is: FEAR dressed up as intelligence
you're not being thorough. you're being a PUSSY, you want spreadsheets to blame when shit fails instead of owning your decisions like someone who isn't easy to kill
fuck your process.
347 divided by 45? about 7
should i hire this broad? she seems hungry? hired.
should i fire this client? they annoy me? gone.
should i raise prices? feeling poor? doubled.
CLOSE ENOUGH IS GOOD ENOUGH
perfect is for common folk who die with perfect plans. done is for killers who die with results.
i watch people spend 6 months on business plans that are worthless the second reality hits. my business plan was "make money." took 2 seconds. still works.
you know what matters? VELOCITY not accuracy.
100 decisions at 70% accuracy beats 10 decisions at 95% accuracy. because those 100 decisions taught you what actually works while your statistics are still theoretical
my competitors still calculating unit economics while i've tested 20 offers and found the one that prints. they have better spreadsheets. i have better everything else.
quick math principle applies to everything:
relationships? you know in 10 seconds if a broad is worth your time. stop needing 6 months of data to "be sure"
investments? thesis makes sense and founder isn't soft? send it. your due diligence is just procrastination with a fancy name
opportunities? someone offers you something that could work? say yes figure it out later. "but the statistics say..." statistics are for people easy to kill
here's the truth: your best educated guess RIGHT NOW beats your perfect answer NEVER
because while you're calculating, killers are DOING. while you're analyzing statistics, they're creating them. while you're planning, they're already celebrating.
347 divided by 45?
about 7.
good enough.
NEXT.
that's the yegor method. quick math. violent execution. adjust on the fly.
everything else is mental masturbation that common folk use to feel smart while staying broke
my dad could calculate missile impacts in his head but knew "close enough" beats "perfect too late"
a "close enough" nuke skill decimates a city. a nuke that never launches does ZERO
now make that fucking decision you've been sitting on. your gut already knows. stop pretending you need more data.
study the yegor method.
Interestingly this isn't just happening in Iran. I know people living in the US who booked surgeries at Reddington (Lagos) and The Bank Hospital (Accra) because it was much quicker and cheaper to spend $4,500 on top level medical care in West Africa than to get a $40,000 insurance co-pay bill in the US.
And even outside of healthcare similar things are happening. I saw 2 videos yesterday of American teachers who left the US and moved to Abuja for better teaching jobs and a better life.
The world is finally shifting and I'm just happy to be alive to witness it.
Countries will beg immigrants every day of the week, and twice on Sundays, to come to their rescue whenever they’re battling labor shortages.
The moment those shortages are filled, they go “For decades, our immigration system has been exploited. We’re tightening our immigration to secure jobs for our citizens. #CitizensFirst”🤦🏽♂️
This song in 1980 caused ripples in the Catholic Church to the extent that the Vatican asked the Bishops in DRC to intervene. Mobutu also stepped in to curb the spread of the song. Most of us black Africans who don’t speak Lingala did not know what the song was about until now that it is subtitled in English. This is a rendition of the original song, but the lyrics and music are unchanged. Happy Sunday Bazalwane
What is OPAY to you?
Btw Nigeria accounted for 88.1% of OPay’s revenue in 2025, followed by Indonesia with 9.9%, Egypt with 1.6% and other markets with 0.4%.
There is a Japanese legend that says:
"Whether it's a machine, a house, or a relationship, maintenance is always cheaper than repairing." What you neglect, you lose.
