Today @merpolchiefcon visited Southport alongside our partners @onesefton @SteveRotheram , @MerseysidePCC , @nwasofficial and @mwlnhs following the tragic incident on Monday and the disorder that followed last night.
We know the events that have taken place over the past few days have shaken our community, and we want to reassure you that your safety, as always, is our priority.
In times like these, it’s important for us to come together and support one another. We have been blown away by the support our communities have shown us today. From the ladies who turned up with cakes for our officers, to the members of the community and a local supermarket chain who handed out food and cold drinks, and the endless people who stopped us to simply say ‘thank you,’ we are so grateful.
We continue to extend our deepest sympathies to the victims of Monday’s devastating incident and their families.
Remember, we are stronger together. Let’s unite as a community and show that we will not be defined by fear, but by our resilience and solidarity.
Stay safe, stay strong, and take care of each other

Today we have launched Operation Shepherd, which is our annual campaign to reduce crime and keep communities safe during the festive period.
Yesterday, we were welcomed by the The Plaza Community Cinema in Crosby, who premiered our crime prevention messages on their big screens! 🍿
We also caught up with Chief Inspector Tracie Trubshaw, who has some good advice on staying safe over the festive period 🎄
Remember, look out for each other this Christmas and report crimes or suspicious behaviour to Merseyside Police via @MerPolCC, 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In an emergency always call 999.
